Looking more and more like 2012 could mirror the 2000 results. With 2 weeks to go, the popular vote polls show Romney at least even with Obama if not leading. Yet Obama, on a state by state basis still has a significant lead in the electoral vote count.
This implies that Romney could very well win the popular vote, yet Obama will be President.
Once again have to bring up the old question: is it time for the Electoral College to go the way of the quill pen that was used to write it into the Constitution?
(I'd set up a poll here except that with so few "likely voters" on the subject, why bother)

That won't ch-ch-change anything. Running for office is like competing in any other contest: you adjust your strategy to suit the rules of the game. If you ch-ch-change the rules, the competitors ch-ch-change their strategies. Either way, the winner is the one who understands the rules the best, and plays the game the best in accordance with those rules.
