I really thought the debates would be boring this year, but the first two have been anything but.

Did anyone watch? I did not, as I already know how I'm going to vote. But I'm curious what viewers might think.

People are in bad financial shape . Absolutely without a doubt. Small business here are still closing. Denice's employers last day is next Thursday 10/25 after 35 years in business. The small business man is still getting killed. A friend of mine owns a Auto Upholstery shop for over 30 years , very successful. He's lucky since he is just a one man shop. He used to have a back log of work. Now he spend most of his time playing with his dog at the shop waiting for work. he's trying to hang on until he is 62 but if he expenses get any higher he may pull the plug sooner. No matter what Wall Street says. They only show the big guns, as does the government. Neither Romney or Obama have any idea how to help middle class America. They are out of tune, out of touch, we are are just SOL. I didn't see the debate so my comments are not based on that.

We watched the debate. Obama got in some licks, so did Romney. Obama was more agressive without being Biden-like. Obama is as good as Clinton at empathizing with the average voter. He feels their pain. Unlike Clinton, however, he caused a lot of their pain and they know it. Romney bore down on Obama's record, to which Obama could only ch-ch-change the subject, because his record is indefensible. I suspect that Obama's supporters were pleased with his more agressive tone. For those on the fence, glittering generalities about hope and ch-ch-change won't fly this time. It is still a while until the election and I suspect that several more goblins will jump out of the bushes before November 6.

When in a Seven-Eleven yesterday I noticed how many Romney cups were gone vs. Obama. Maybe that's a sign of things come. :--) Obama shoplifters

I watched it and thought it was kind of a toss up. The same old stuff on both sides; Romney attacking O's record and O attacking Romney. In substance I think Romney gave more details on his plans but I didn't hear anything I had not already read of his plans. Obama gave nothing but half truths, lies and finger pointing but that is how he has campaigned for the past year.
Just like the moderator on debate #1 who was a guest at Obama's wedding, Crowley the moderator last night gave Obama more time and even told Romney he was wrong clearly showing preferential treatment to the President. It's debatable that Romney was wrong. If Obama stated the Benghazi attack was a terrorist attack why did he have Gibbs and Rice talking about the U-Tube video as the reason for the violence for the two weeks after the attack. Why did Obama blame the video 6 separate times during his UN speech with no mention of al-Qaeda? Crowley should have kept her mouth shut. Very disapointing, slanted and unprofessional.

I predict we are going to hear more and more about Benghazi. It could be the centerpiece of the next debate.
As for the 7-Eleven coffee cups, I refuse to take either one. Fortunately, they still have the regular, independent cups.

Candy Crowley has walked back her statement and admitted that Romney was essentially correct. What an embarrassment. A "moderator" just couldn't exercise the self control to keep from jumping in and helping out her man. It is telling that in all three debates the Democrat has been allowed more time, but actually jumping in and telling one of the candidates he was wrong is beyond the pale. Admitting she was wrong factually had to hurt.
Such behavior might be expected on a Sunday talk show but is an unbelievable breach of decorum and protocol for a Presidential debate.

You are correct. It was the VP debate. Could be why she allowed Biden to interrupt Ryan about 70 times (somebody else's count) and laugh like a crazy person during Ryan's answers. Most unprofessional.

BTW- I predict that the next time around the "moderator" will be a Panel of judges with some sort of big red button involved and the candidate will be voted off the stage at the end. Actually THAT format might be better in than primaries.
