The unfortunate truth is that those who believe they are entitled to everything will vote for Obama, because he will keep giving it to them.

47%? Really? I thought this nailed it rather nicely.

I find the "right's" acceptance of everything Romney says very comforting. As the headline went this morning... "Today is the Day Romney Lost the Election"

47%? Really? I thought this nailed it rather nicely. I don't understand how Romney can be within 3 points in the polls running an 'inept' campaign. No matter I never thought he'd win.

I'm amazed at the fact that people can call this a "gaffe" or a "mistake" or somehow a bad thing. He told the truth, and a very important truth. In fact, one of the most critical truths of our day. He is to be applauded. He should emblazon this quote on every billboard and bumper sticker he can reach.
If the American voters see this as a bad thing to say, well, then they are going to get the kind of government that they deserve: a broken, default one.

There is some percentage of the voters who believe damn near anything, but I suspect most folks would gladly pay to help those who can't help themselves - trouble is, there are plenty of folks who can help themselves but won't help themselves. They are an entirely different animal.
The money is squandered and we are broke. It doesn't matter from a financial perpective if it was spent on welfare queens, good wars, bad wars, government employee pensions, or nice little old ladies. We are upside down to the tune of $16 trillion and climbing rapidly.
Expanding (or even maintaining) the status quo for very long is a mathematical impossibility. We can deal with it in an orderly basis or party like hell til the lights go off.
The US has lost respect overseas and is on a downward trajectory. The middle east is on fire. Obama's shit isn't working.

Tex, what was your saying about the fleas and the dog? It's never been more true than today.

The ticks need the dog. The dog doesn't need the ticks. That should be Romney's campaign theme. Unfortunately, he doesn't have the panache to carry it off. Reagan did, but we're fresh out of Reagans these days. More's the pity.
