My sentiments exactly, both in your post and thread title. Yes, it was a typically long Clintonesque speech, but I was so rapt, I didn't notice how long it was until after he was done and I looked at the clock. The one problem with the speech from my perspective was that once it was done, I was motivated to run out and vote for *Bubba*. O will need to follow his lead tonight and be more of a speaker and less of an orator in order to whip the crowd into a similar frenzy.

The chemistry between Clinton and the Republican congress produced some good results. Clinton's speech helped the Clinton brand. He is adroit in this setting. It won't take much for Obama to whip up the Kool Aid drinkers at the convention. The television audience is the challenge. "Believe me, not your lying eyes." is a tough sell.

I din't vote for him in 92 or 96 but I would vote for him in 2012, because I think he could get congress off of their dead ass.

Well ~ You might get the chance to vote for Mrs. Bubba according to the talking heads, but I think Andrew Cuomo has the best shot.
The ground work seems to be getting into place over here in NY

I couldn't believe Steve Martin was going to speak then I realized it was Charlie Crist. Anybody else in eyeglass denial?

Herman Munster was endorsing Obama? I suppose. No question that Gomez Adams is Republican, so I guess these things balance out.

I watched Obama speech last night and MSNBC was scanning the crowd showing the celebrities there like it was a Lakers Basketball game.

I miss the days of Clinton too, insofar that it highlighted the hypocrisy of the media. They would jump all over the slightest peccadillo of a Republican politician, yet say nothing of the POTUS committing sexual harassment in the Oval Office. Same goes for supposed "women's rights" groups that gave him a pass, showing that they were really just mouthpieces of the liberal fringe, not really in favor of women at all.

You're absolutely right! And look at what THAT resulted in -- 8 years of W followed by a BLACK president! Holy Crap!

Sorry, I didn't realize it was non-sequitur day. I'll have to check my calendar.
