Hey Colleen did you see them yet? A friend of mine saw them here last week and was sooo disappointed. She has a mini obsession w/steven and said he looks like he has had plastic surgery and she could see the clips showing on his hair extensions. Guess that fantasy was blown for her...LOL Guess the show wasn't as good as in previous years either.....i saw them when Jaded came out ( a few years ago) and they were really great......

It's on the 30th - I never get close enough to them to see the clips in the hair extensions and wonder how she did...? I would assume that he did have plastic surgery - he looks younger then his age. I don't have any kind of "he's HOT" atttraction to him, I just think they put on a killer show and like their music - so maybe my motivations are different then your friend. I've seen them about 6 times in concert over the years and it's ALWAYS a good show so I'm surprised but every showman has an off night....

I don't know how she does it but always manages to get in the first few rows.......i know in the past she has paid crazy money for tickets. i would never spend $500-$600 a ticket no matter who it was.a couple of years ago she had problems with her tickets and complained loud enough to the fan club and somehow ended up getting back stage passes out of the deal. i feel the same way you do i like the show they put on but have no attraction to him whatsoever...just a great rock band.

Went to the concert last night. It was good but I've got to say not as good as others I've seen by both Aerosmith and Motley Crue.
Crue opened and they didn't have a whole lot of stage to work with so some of the "show" from last year (a lot of the good stuff) wasn't in the act. This was disappointing and Vince Neil was not in good voice and said so after admitting that he'd lost his voice 2 nights ago and was recovering. Nevertheless it was Crue and Tommy Lee was GREAT - though he didn't do a drum solo.
Aerosmith came out rockin' and everyone was on their feet for the first couple of songs. It was a bit disappointing that they did a lot of instrumental in this show. They showcased Joe Perry a lot in this show as well which I thought was interesting. Steven Tyler looks AWFUL - he's had a BAD face lift I hate to say but I wonder about the "hair extensions" your friend saw Heidi - he DOES and always has worn clip in locks that are obviously that along with strips of fabric in his hair and I wonder if that is what she saw. I've never had the "hots" for him so I couldn't care less about it but I've got to admit that he didn't look very good - but he had LOTS of energy and is the consummate performer as always - you can definitely tell he likes this stuff and Vince Neil could take some lessons from him on how to mesmerize a crowd - which is what he's always done best - all in all a good show - just not the best one I've seen either band do...

yeah my girlfriend did agree about the really bad face lift too..... i forgot that she had mentioned that too. the show wasn't even sold out here either which isn't a good sign...i guess they need some new material to throw in with the classics because they seem to be losing the audience....sorry to hear it wasn't as good as previous years.

Sounds like you had fun anyway Colleen. I have never understood what is/was so sexy about Steven Tyler. BUT, I would love to see them in concert.

I'll tell ya what Edie - Joe Perry was playing a song - instrumental in a white "pirate" shirt that was open down the front and HE has a six pack!! OMG - HE looked GREAT - poor Steven Tyler! At the end he had a shirt on all night and he was walking off stage and ripped his tank top off - GOOD lord he should have kept it on - especially with them showing off how GOOD Joe Perry looks! Give me Joe Perry ANY DAY - even when they were younger and Steven Tyler looked better.
My advice - don't go to this one - it's not their USUALLY awsome concert (they could have been having an off night though). They toured with Kiss last year and I saw them twice and both times they were GREAT! (Kiss was good too). I found it interesting that they came to DC twice last year with Kiss and the show was a bit different each time - thought that was great - they have so much material to choose from so I guess that makes it easy.
This show made me feel like they were just in it for the money and going thru the motions - first time I ever felt that at an Aerosmith concert and I've seen them probably 6-8 times over the years in concert - maybe more.

I saw Twisted Sister a couple of times last year and they rocked. They were playing in the infield of Daytona Speedway. There were only about 50 of us (mostly vendors) at one of the concerts at Bike Week last year. Dee Snyder told us that the promoters said that they didn't have to play for us and he said "Fuck That!" We came to see 'em and they were gonna play. We were camped about 200 feet away from the stage so we could crawl back to the fifth wheel. (PLUS drinks were cheap!!!! LOL) That was a fun concert!! Dee kept talking to people in the audience and it was pretty funny. The next day Travis Tritt only had about 250 people show up. He quipped that he had played at bigger private parties!
