The reprobate who shot up a Sikh temple in Wisconsin yesterday is spurring a debate: is he a "domestic terrorist" or was it a "hate crime"? Personally, I find these types of debates deplorable and unnecessary. We should focus on the actions, not the intent or the psychological basis behind them. To focus on the "why" is to generate a need for Orwell-style "thought police," and I don't think any of us want that. But the question still nags at my mind: what exactly IS a "domestic terrorist"? This yahoo news article defines it thusly: What do YOU think? Does the idea of "domestic terrorism" make sense? And if so, what defines it?

Domestic Terrorism? You will have to track sown someone who supported that damned Patriot Act to get an answer to that.
As far as hate crime goes.. like porn, I know it when I see it, and anyone who stands with pride in front of a swastika and has their picture taken is probably guilty of a "hate crime" when they act out against anyone who isnt of northern European background. Edited: make that "straight" northern European background.

Even your Obama supports it and extended in in 2011. As far as 'domestic' violence goes...that is simply spin and misleading to boot. When I first heard it in connection with the Wisconsin shooting I thought the perpetrator was going after his wife or girlfriend in there. Of course that was when I heard the initial report before more information about the incident was revealed. It's violence; domestic, foreign whatever. Individual or mass violence should be dealt with efficiently and severely. I don't care if the guilty was wronged sometime in life. That's PC bullshit. We have all been wronged at one time or another. Doesn't give us the right to go out a shoot'em up in a public place.

If you voted for him, he's yours. Sort of like "if you break it, you bought it."

True, but he's not "mine" moving forward for entirely different reasons than he's not yours.
