Here I am with ol' pal Eddie Munster at a car show. He gracefully took some pictures and autographed two photos of the entire Munster family for me.

He gracefully took some pictures ... I'm guessing you meant "graciously", not "gracefully". But hey, I've been wrong before ...

On the Munster family photo I had him write: "Gary when you get a chance please measure Grandpa's dungeon ... nothing too expensive!" Because THAT'S what I hear everyday from customers and my contractors!

He's the one in the black shirt. Had he been holding Woof Woof it would have been easier to tell.

Another child actor that crashed and burnt in his acting career.

I heard that his wife was Wednesday from the Adams Family and she briefly left Eddie for Thing (that hand in a box).

Here's my friend's surf guitar band playing the theme song to the show.

That was great! Loved the touch of Zeppelin too. Yesterday they had 3 different bands playing including a surf style group. The cars were fabulous and the popularity trend continues with rat rods. Maybe someday I'll get one myself, they offer lots of creative freedom.

Here is an example of the artistic freedom in the popular custom car style called the "rat rod". It's an early 1950's Chevrolet Pick-up that's Dodge powered. Rust, extreme styling and low budget are the theme.

Rust, extreme styling and low budget are the theme. I would have said it was older than that. The 1949-54 Chevy & GMC trucks all look very much the same and this looks like a late 30s or maybe early post-war model.

You see the occasional one of these in the UK... imported from the US of course. Didn't know they were called Rat Rods though. I always think they are pretty damned cool!!

I was thinking about this the other day. With all of the effort that the automakers have made in the past decade or so for a modern take on retro styling, I am surprised that they have not ventured past the mid '50s or so. There is a great pool of classic styles from the late 40's and the 30's that could be drawn from that would make some very nice modern cars.
great pic Gary!

I like the styles of the 30s and 40s, but suspect they may not use space efficiently or allow all of the crap under the hood that we have now. The vehicles of that era tend to be quite simple mechanically (except for maybe a Duesenberg or the like).

I AM CALLING SHENANIGANS. Everyone on TV back then were shades of grey, no way any of the Munsters were this colory crap
BTW- I wonder where between his neck and his knees Eddie transitions to a fleshy hue.

Gary, you would LOVE Havana! ALL their cars are old, but some are rusty old and still limping along, and some are totally restored. Yeah, you would be gobsmacked by the vehicles there. Truly impressive, all of them.

My uncle buried one of these Austin A30s in a field about 35 years ago. It should be about ready now...

He buried one, or was buried in one? It does have that fancy coffin look to it.

If he was buried in one, I bet if you exhume the body, it'll have that new car smell.

If he was buried in one they'd have to have left the back doors open for his feet to stick out.
