We went to see Cher in concert last night in Shreveport. We had never seen her before and we went largely because it was her farewell tour and we figured we wouldn't have another chance. Louisiana always has a raucous concert crowd (they sell not only beer but hard liquor at concerts there) but this was Mardi Gras weekend anyway and half of the crowd was already wearing beads and buzzing when they walked in. The Village People opened the show and were very entertaining. Cher's performance was excellent and she had spared no expense for props and extras. Cher was hitting on all eight and the crowd loved her and she loved the crowd.
I have always thought that Cher had a decent (but not outstanding) voice but was a master showman and have always admired her spunk. If you get a chance to see her, do it.

Cher's farewell tour just seems to go on and on!! She played half a dozen dates on the tour in the UK last May. We would love to have seen her but the only concerts close enough for us to get to in London and Birmingham clashed with our week at Hedo. Good to hear you enjoyed the evening Tex.

She has only had one TV final good-by show when she does the third on I might believe her.
Joe.

Hint: You'll know it's her FINAL final show when she sings a duet with Sonny.

Uh, I think that would have to be an encore...unless you already have reserved seats down there.

No, Harry -- see, an encore would mean that she came back onto the stage. Once she walks off, ain't nobody calling her out again. The only encore that'd be worth watching is to see her strap one on with her daughter Chastity.
