After reading the top 16 country music list I tried to think how you would define what type of music we tend to listen to. We have such an eclectic music selection. We have a little bit of everything. In my CD player that I take to the gym I keep music that makes me move. Right now it is "Tina Turner" but 2 months ago it was "Shania Twain" and before that is was "Jimmy Buffett". In my car I am alternating between "Phil Collins" & "Kenny Chesney" but that could ch-ch-change any day to "Nat King Cole", "Louie Armstrong" or the "Grateful Dead". Rupe was listening to "Quadraphia" the other night while working on the living room. I also have soundtracks from many Broadway shows & movies too. We must have about 400 CD's, 1000 LP's (including some old time 78's) a box of cassettes and a box full of 8 tracks. We also have working 8 track player. I don't sing in public but around the house (when no one else is home) I sing a long with everything and in my car I can sing well too. ;D So what kind of music do you listen to?

Usually rock or heavy metal. Sometime I get into an 80's music kick.
Metallica, AeroSmith, Korn, ACDC, Guns and Roses, Bon Jovi, Nickelback just to name a few.
Joe.

Whatever I'm in the mood for at the moment. Could be any rock, from 60's to 80's stuff. I have stuff that runs that whole range.
Like Heidi, it's whatever personality is in charge that day. One day could be GNR or Metallica and the next could be could be Fleetwood Mac or (and don't crucify me.....I AM a child of the 80's after all) Duran Duran. ;D

hehehe, i was singing "Girls On Film"last night as i was cooking dinner. I tend to like most music except German Opera <Wagner will drive me from a room>, and Urban has to be on the less aggressive side (both lyrically and musically) for me to appreciate it much. What about Gershwin, spanish guitar, novelty acts (TMBG, Weird Al) weird cover bands (Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, Richard Cheese), 5th Dimension, Abba, Kansas, Styx, ELO, Information Society, Josh Groban, Al Stewart, King Crimson, Moody Blues, Rolling Stones, Supertramp, Scooter, E-type, Oingo Boingo, Danny Elfman, Howard Shore (thats the LOTRs composer), Ben Folds? How about my favoritest band of all time, Brave Combo (a polka salsa rock band from Denton Tx brave.com/bo/ )? Zilla (there is ALWAYS music in my head, and it frequently drives other people crazy when it escapes through my mouth)

Cheap Trick...I used to see them at the bars in Chicago 'burbs for a buck. B-Ginnings wanted $5 (bar was owned by the band Chicago).
Give me Led Zep, The Who, Yes, ZZ Top, Pink Floyd, Journey, and classic rock for everyday listening. Andrea Boccelli for the horizontal bop.
Zilla....Puccini operas are my fav.....Tosca, La Boheme, and Madam Butterfly...bring out the kleenex.

Reminds me of that ditty: Do you balls hang low? Do they wobble to and fro? Can you tie 'em in a knot? Can you tie 'em in a bow? Can you throw 'em over your shoulder like a Continential soldier? Do your balls hang low?
Weren't the original words "ears"?

It's the favorite of the littlest guy, or was for a while before he discovered race cars, so we heard it alot. :-) Deb

I like all music. I love classical music to clean my house by (Ravel especially). This probably comes from years of classical piano lessons. I like opera...as Julia Roberts said in Pretty Woman...I liked it so much I almost peed my pants...To which Richard Gere said...She said she liked it better than Pirates of Penzance (OK my spelling and punctuation is off on that one but oh well, Chris can spank me later). Oh and just to be different I like Zydeco.
Eminem All the bands that Joe mentioned Avril Lavigne Toby Keith Kid Rock
I'm like the rest of you, different music to suit my moods. The only kind of music I can say I don't care for is that whiny, old fashioned country. I saw Twisted Sister at Daytona Bike Week last year where there were only about 50 spectators and they ROCKED!!!!

Andrea Boccelli for the horizontal bop. No, no, no, no, no! For the horizontal tango it's gotta be Barry White or Sade.

I love Sir Elton John's music too.. an old boyfriend got me my first Elton album as a bribe to not break up wiht him... I kept the album & ditched the guy. Billy Joel puts on one hell of a show but then again so does the Moody Blues with The Beach Boys we also saw The Beach Boys playing with Chicago (way back when) & ZZ Top with Counting Crows or Black Crows. My all time favorite concert to date has been Tina Turner with Cindy Lauper as her opening act. Rupe has on tape Mountain playing at a local high school... talk about OLD

My very first concert was Jefferson Starship. I still like their music. I'm definitely a mood/music person too. This dancing baby grew up as a Motown fanatic. Beach Boys is summer happy music, and there's nothing like Nat King Cole and Bing Crosby at Christmas. The Doors, and Jethro Tull with his magic flue still mesmerize me. Musicals are wonderful too. Reggae is a give-in, and you know that Orthodox Jewish Reggae singer, Matsiyahu ain't so bad either! I can identify certain stages of my life with various types of music. Amazing how a song can catapult you back into time.
