I thought the weather people were overstating the oncoming storm but I guess not. I just took this picture.

Ironically, we have not even had a hint of snow so far this year... putting us several inches behind already. No that I am concerned... more than willing to spot you a few at this point in the season.

It's even snowing pretty hard down here in The BK. For comparison, here's what my apartment's terrace looked like this past summer when Hurricane Irene blew in for the weekend: Attachments:

Cold weather in NYC metro is a big deal in the Kilgore area. Much of of locally produced gas is sold there. Large volumes of natural gas are piped to Longview, which is the Texas end of the Big Inch pipeline, the first long petroleum line in the US, now used to pipe natural gas to Linden NJ and from there to the New York City Gate, where the gas is metered as it first enters the local gas utility system. Snow = good. Stay warm.

The snow here is wet and heavy and is expected to bring power outages due to downed trees and branches -- the snow on top of the leaves that still haven't yet fallen causes them to break under the weight.
At this point, staying dry is more of the priority over staying warm.

The damage from this storm was more severe in many respects than the hurricane in late August. Trees are down everywhere taking property and power lines with them. Check out this picture showing still thriving pot of annuals and leaves yet to fall.

putting us several inches behind already. No that I am concerned... In my neck of the woods the prospect of several inches in the behind would be something to be VERY concerned about!

good ... err... point Simon. Which is why I always sit to use the keyboard when I am in front of the computer, rather than standing and bending over.
