I just realized that my Winamp player links me to about 600 internet radio stations! Yowza! That's more than I care to wade through on my own to develop a list of favorites. Have any of you got any favorite internet "radio" stations that you recommend? I'm especially looking to get "hep" to the new good music, as discussed in our previous thread. Thanks!.....Jake

Do they list ksexradio.com?
Not sure about the music playlist if any, I tend to think that they are all talk. (As in radio format -- not to be confused with all talk, no action)

IRIE-FM out of Jamaica, they have there own website www.iriefm.net/index.phpOnly problem is that it is a subscription feed... BUT they have a GREAT archive of special programs on file, and I find those well worth the price ($7.95/month). My satellite dish has about 100 Sirius channels on it, so I have the feed split into my computer and use that as my office radio. NO Commercials!! If I could just find a way to retransmit to say a 600 foot radius around my house, I would never listen to over the air broadcasts any more. ALSO... if you want to record any internet feed radio for iPod use or to listen to at another time, I recommend ReplayRadio www.applian.comGordon

I found one station that I like a lot. It's called "Flashback Alternative" and you can get at it through Winamp, or go directly to 208.53.131.110:8009Classic Eighties Alternative type of stuff (Smiths, Men Without Hats, B-52s, Sparks, Flock of Seagulls, etc.). Great stuff. And it's free! (and commercial free, too)......Jake

Here's another good one: Radio Wazee www.wazee.org/The call themselves "Modern Alternative Rock" and it's pretty good so far. Commercial free and cash free, although they do solicit donations......Jake

Thanks, Zilla! I just popped on Luxuria Music; they are playing a surf version of Dean Martin's "Sway" - way cool.
I've been listening to Radio Nigel a lot too, lately......Jake

hehehe, I think I'll pull a "DrBob" here.
Any of you play on pandora.com ? You tell it a song or artist you like, and it creates a playlist of music that is similar to that. Its lots of fun. Yesterday I told it I liked "Something Stupid by Frank Sinatra", and it created a playlist full of Frank, Dean, Mel Torme, Glenn Miller, Dinah Washington, and the like for me. Awesome.

In other words, hold my hand? Why BB, you incorrigible flirt, if you keep sweet talking like that I might just become covetous of your relationship with Miss Chris. Zilla (they say that falling in love is wonderful, it's wonderful, so they say)

I have the song on an album (being a musical freakazoid)....it's paired at the finale with "There's No Business Like Show Business", yes, from "Annie, Get Your Gun" (nice job, BB).
And Zilla, don't get taken in by BB...he's a Sinatra freakazoid so you fed him an easy line. Besides, I got dibs. BB--don't you love being the only active single guy on this board?

I s'pose it depends what you mean by "active". Perhaps you meant to precede that with the word "radio"?

I have the song on an album (being a musical freakazoid)....it's paired at the finale with "There's No Business Like Show Business", yes, from "Annie, Get Your Gun" (nice job, BB). One of these days when I swing through Chicago, you and I need to go out and annoy the locals by drinking and singing show tunes together Start practicing up on "Bored" from "Kismet", its one of my favorites when I get tipsy... Being a Frankazoid isn't a bad thing in my book, but it wasn't so much that he knew the next line as that he was willing to play that swept me off my feet. <insert dreamy sigh here> Don't worry, luv. There is a difference in Zillaland between coveting and actively poaching, and your claim couldn't be any clearer if you had gone up and licked him Besides we both know I could never compete with your delectable self. Now get back up on that pedestal so I can verify you still aren't wearing any undies! Zilla (who remembers a time she was very intimidated to meet the Famous Author Christinko) ps: the way your smile beams, the way you sing off key, the way you haunt my dreams...

No you can't take that away from me!
Love you, too, Zilla! Do come to Chicago and we'll ravage the town together.
And I gotta mention this because A LOT of folks have told me about that intimidation thing on meeting me....I'm not famous, kids. No one except you all know me. And I'm certainly not rich because of it. I think each of us is as famous (or is that infamous?) as the next one because we're all in this tiny cult together.
