Final Destination 5 is opening today and we will be at the Alamo Drafthouse watching the flick and drinking cold beer. I have to admit that I wasn't really familiar with the movie series when my sweet and talented goddaughter Ellen told me that she had landed a role in it, but my sons and many of my friends had seen the other movies in the series. Ellen plays a gymnast who dies twice in the movie.

I've seen the first three... loved them all. Great "Rube Goldberg" style death scenes, funny and macabre at the same time. Watch for Tony Todd (tall creepy black dude with a deep voice) as the Undertaker; he always has a small but very creepy role, and makes the movie........Jake

We turned the phones off.
Everyone dies twice in the movie. My goddaughter died first in each sequence, once by falling from a bridge and being impaled on a sailboat mast, again in a freak gymnastics accident. The undertaker that Jake mentioned was in fine style. The movie was interesting enough and I was very happy for my goddaughter to get the part. She knocked on a lot of doors and persisted. I am proud of her.
