The seal was amazing! I was on a pier for launching small boats. There must have been 50 or more people on it crabbing or just catching some rays. Suddenly I noticed the seal playing around in the water a few feet from me and nobody was paying any attention to it... and they ain't exactly commonplace in this neck of the woods! So I started snapping away with my camera.
Not my dog I'm afraid. It belonged to some people on the beach. But it was having the time of its life playing in the surf and I think I got some great pictures of it.

That dog definitely looked like it was having fun. I'm a huge dog lover; they have the ability to experience sheer joy (and other pure emotions) that us humans can only envy.
I forgot to ask: did you take the Ferry Cross the Mersea?

Different Mersea I'm afraid But... my mother is from Liverpool, and her family are all still there, so I have been on THAT ferry.

One boat looked like a gaffe rigged ketch in the distance. Definitely an old school sail configuration but an efficient and sturdy rig.
