Denice and I seen this last weekend when we where in Temecula.
I was not sure how this was going to be since most of the DC Comics movies have not been very well done except for the last two Batman's.
It was good. A little slow in the middle but other wise it was good. The special effects are as good as any Marvel Comics movies.
I'd spend $10.00 and see it. I think you will miss the effects on the small screen.

The TV ads made it look like more of a spoof than a serious action movie. Was it?

Finally saw it, on Netflix. The "spoof" I was thinking of must have been a different movie. It was a "serious" superhero movie, or at least as serious as any of them get.
That said, I'm really, really tired of comic book superhero movies. This one was as good as any of the dozens of other ones, but really felt unnecessary. Yet another origin story about an ordinary dude who finds super powers, struggles with his inner demons, and finds a way to beat the bad guys and get the girl. YAAAWWWWWNNNNN.
I really expected Samuel L. Jackson to show up at the end and recruit him for his Justice League or whatever the fuck it's called. But I guess that's the American League, not the National League, or whatever the fuck it's called. Again... YAAAWWWWNNNNN.....
