Ah.. very nice... and spending time with the band! This makes you a celebrity as well...
While we're on the subject of singing, I sang 4 songs Friday night at my local pub. This was a big deal for me because I'm typically self-conscience to the point of not even being able to sing Happy Birthday at family functions. I really enjoyed it once I started, someone has pictures and I'll see if I can get them.

This is my all-time favorite song of all time, ever. One reason is their use of total absolutes. I hate mealy-mouthed non-committal opinions, where people leave open all sorts of exceptions to their stands, just in case they may be pissing off someone who might disagree with them. Fuck that moral relativism shit! If you believe, it, OWN IT!! And this song does just that. It takes TOTAL and uncompromising stands, using such terms as:
- ALL the time - nothing - never - always - and of course, stopping the world shows pretty much total commitment to a cause.
Carry on, Lads!........Jake

All these years later I still can't get over how big this song became in the US, yet the band remained relatively unknown here. Rob and the boys were just part of the scene here in my town in the early 80s. Although I didn't know them personally at the time I had lots of friends who did, three of whom are Rob's best friends. They would be in the bars around town that we used to go to and we'd think nothing of it. Fast foward nearly 30 years and the whole town (well us over-45s anyway) had been buzzing for weeks about this homecoming gig by our local musical royaly. I can honestly say it was one of the best nights of my life, made all the better by Rob seeing me in the crowd and acknowledging me,and catching the drumstick at the end of 'Melt'!! HOW OLD AM I? ;D
