Watched the pilot episode of the new Fox show, " The Chicago Code," tonight. This is a gritty, street-oriented cop drama, which reminds me a lot of an all-time favorite, "Homicide: Life on the Street." Of course, being set in Chicago, I had to check it out. I thought the pilot was very well done, focusing on the day-to-day life of the cops on the mean streets of Chicago. The scenery was great, showing both the beauty and the ugliness of the various parts of the city. And they very accurately portrayed the way corruption runs rampant between the political and business communities, with Delroy Lindo playing a corrupt alderman with his fingers in many pies. Jennifer Beals plays the Top Cop in town, hired to be a puppet of the Delroy Lindo character, but she turns out to be not so easy to make dance to his tune. Australian actor Jason Clarke plays a tough south-sider (doing a pretty decent Chicago accent) homicide detective who plays by his own rules. I'm looking forward to more gritty goodness in the coming weeks. Anyone else see this show? What did you think?

Nobody? I've been following this show religiously since it's start, and it's just getting better and better. Am I alone here?

Well, I just watched the 13th and apparently FINAL episode, since it was cancelled by Fox. Too bad. I thought this was the best cop show I've seen since "Homicide: Life on the Street." Delroy Lindo is fucking amazing. Maybe it will get picked up by USA Network or FX?
