We are up in east Texas and wouldn't you know that the only tornado in Texas was right behind our house at Oak Hill. It knocked out power (and heat) for several hours and the electric was on and off all night. I was able to heat up some water with a coffee maker and thaw out the lines to the water heater and get hot water on in one bath. 13 degrees here this morning. We are set up to air condition here but not heat so much. Even Texas winter is too cold for me.

Hate to say this (well, no not really), but the best part of storms like this, for me personally, is that we tend to get beautiful weather when storms come up from the SW and hit places like StLouis, Chicago, Detroit, etc.
We had the sunniest day since November yesterday, the roads are clear and DRY for the first time in about 10 weeks, and its about normal temps with no wind. LOVE IT!
