Dr. Demento played this song this week. It is a Weird Al "style parody" of a Frank Zappa song. By that I mean that it isn't a parody of a specific Zappa song, but more of a generic parody of Zappa's style and signature effects. Any Zappa fan is sure to see many implicit jokes. And at the same time, it makes fun of the French peoples' love for Jerry Lewis! Many subtle cues in here, and I'm sure there are many subtle jokes that I have missed myself. Anyway, thought I'd share.......Jake Genius In FranceP.S. - it also includes the immortal phrase "Great Googly-Moogly!" in case you were wondering where that came from.

While I'm at it, I believe Dr. Goon mentioned the song "Deteriorata" not too long ago. Another classic song! And one of my favorites. Here is a rendition of it as well.....Jake Deteriorata

Here is a rendition of it as well.....Jake DeteriorataI have posted the text in the past, on more than one ocassion, but not a link to the song. I never cared for the original musical version, I dont think its morose enough. Edited: The Youtube is also way too upbeat... this needs to be presented like a dirge for full effect.

You have GOT to see The 40 year Old Virgin. It is touching and hilarious all at the same time. Den & I rarely go to the movies, but for some reason, we went to see this one..........we laughed so much, we bought it when it came out. It is one of those rare movies that you can watch over and over again (for me, anyways!). It just gets funnier every time you watch it. I also loved the fact that he ended up with a woman and not a girl 20 years younger than him. Love this movie!! Jo (edited to add......hey 700 posts!!)
