Between bed bugs and rats on the subway NYC tourism must be on the decline. It might affect tourism but I read that bedbugs are mostly an issue for airport based hotels, if that's any relief.

Instead of installing one of those Magic Fingers vibrating machines, some motels just use bedbugs to give you a massage. The bedbugs are cheaper, but they can tend to draw blood.
