New Features: Social Login, Registration, Sharing

We’re happy to announce three exciting new features for your ProBoards forum!

Social Registration

We’ve made registering at your forum a breeze. Your visitors can import their registration information from their existing social networks. This saves them time and helps you build a larger community.

Social Login

After registering using your social network you can also login using the same network! All you need to do when logging in is click on the icon for your social network and we’ll log you straight into your account.

If you would like to take advantage of this feature but have already created a forum account, visit your forum profile and click on “Social Networks” to get started.

Social Sharing

Sharing information with your social networks has never been easier. We have introduced a new button at the top of each thread. Using this button you can share threads you find on Facebook, Twitter, and many other social networks quickly and easily.

Are you able to get it to work with Facebook?

Why would I want my friends on Facebook to know what Im posting here? I have so few of them already, I find no need to drive even more away.

I see this trend at lots of internet sites, and I find it disturbing. I don't always want the various nooks and crannies of my life interconnected! I especially like to keep my social/recreational activities separate from my business activities.

I also agree, but I would add that since it's also easy to have multiple ID's/e-mail addresses, the ones that I reserve for personal use are separate from the ones I use for business.
