Two new shows started up on USA network this month. Anyone else watching them?
Rizzoli and Isles - Angie Harmon (from L&O) as a street-smart, tom-boy homicide detective (but still hot), and Sasha Alexander (from NCIS) as a high-fashion, but pop-culture-challenged (think "Bones") medical examiner. Set in Boston.
Covert Affairs - Piper Perabo as a new CIA recruit, learning the ropes while battling terrorists and looking sexy. Lots of quicky characters in this one, as well as high-priced production values.
So far, we've seen the first two episodes of each. I liked them both. Anyone else?.........Jake

Seen the previews for Rizzoli and Isles. Anything with Angie Harmon in it is okay but I have not yet watched it.

As a fan of both "The Sopranos" and Martin Scorsese, I'm looking forward to "Boardwalk Empire" this fall on HBO ...

Feeling that this years batch of Leverage may be the last. When it first came out a couple years back I enjoyed it tremendously with its "Oceans 11 with a wink on the side" style. But it now seems to be trying to be more serious and, for me, its not working.

I stuck with both Rizzoli and Isles and Covert Affairs through the duration of their "season" (which seems to mean about nine episodes these days*). Both were good and getting better. Looking forward to their return........Jake
*Not that I'm complaining. I'd rather have nine good episodes than 39 crappy ones.

Bailed on R&I, I just could not get into what I considered inane discussions of personal issues, but I never cared for Monk either so I guess my dislike for this show follows.
Enjoyed Covert Affairs, thought it matured well through the season and look forward to next season.

Anyone catch the first two episodes of "Boardwalk Empire"? I saw the premier but missed the one last night in favor of the Jets game (especially since HBO will rerun "BE" a bunch of times during the week). After the first episode, I haven't quite made up my mind on this one yet.

Nothing like a good season ending cliff hanger, hopefully they will show the orgasm at the start of season 2

After the first episode, I haven't quite made up my mind on this one yet. I watched both episodes and I am still sort of luke warm on it so far. I like Buscemi a lot but I am not sure he can carry a lead. It just has not quite grabbed me yet but I will continue to watch It is a nice lead in to Mad Men which for my money is far and away the 3rd best thing going on TV behind watching the Saints and/or the Rays.

I was hoping I'd develop the same kind of enthusiasm I had for "The Sopranos", but I don't think that'll happen with this series. FWIW, I've heard HBO has already picked it up for a 2nd season.

Has anyone watch the New Hawaii Five-0. We watched the premier last week and thought it was pretty good.

I liked the Five-0 premier a lot, too. Other than totally violating any sort of police procedure, which was kind of unrealistic, it was great in all other ways. Great scenery, characters, dialog, and acting. And of course a great theme song - glad they didn't fuck with that.
DVRed episode 2 tonight, but haven't watched it yet (watched House instead).
