It sucks when shows that you really like end.

Most of my favorite shows are from the distant past. Thank God for reruns and memory loss.

Lost is a good name for it. I am starting to think that is was akin to "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" which had all the touchy feely types assigning great meaning to but which the author later said was drunken bullshit. You can't tie all the "Lost" bullshit together coherently.

It sucks when shows that you really like end. It's years later and I'm still in mourning over "The Sopranos".

I could understand "The Sopranos".

I never watched either "Lost" or "24". These days, I'm either watching Travel Channel, news or the Howard Stern channel. Not a whole lot on regular TV has been able to capture my attention.

Its probably something like "How are babies made?" which only proves that a little bit of knowledge can be both powerful and dangerous.

I used to be a big fan of that show, but after watching it, reruns of earlier episodes I'd missed from previous years and the spin-offs, I just got burned - out.

The finale of L&O is on the DVR for viewing tonight I loved the original L&O, but didn't hear about it being canceled until too late. If you can post a review (and synopsis) of the finale, I'd be eternally grateful........Jake

It was pretty much your standard L&O fare, this one was about a disgruntled teacher who was planning on going Columbine with guns, pipe bombs and LP tanks form a gas grill rigged to explode to get back at students for ruining his career.
On the character front, Lt Van Buren (S. Epatha Maerkerson) got a phone call from her doctor that was obviously good news about her cancer treatment. But beyond that no great enlightenment. I think production had been long wrapped and ready for broadcast when the cancellation came down from on high, so no thought was really given to a "finale".
Maybe an L&O made for TV movie sometime in the future to close the book on the characters will happen.

Thanks. Appreciate the wrap-up. Yes, a TV movie would be a nice capstone.
Or of course they could sneak the wrap-up into one of the thirty or forty L&O spin-offs that are still on the air.

Realistically, they didnt have time to put together a special closer (maybe they filmed an alternate ending for Van Burens cancer, I dont know), but from a story line point of view, the ending was appropriate. That is, there is no ending, the story goes on and on, as long as there is crime.
I dont look forward to L&O-LA at all. NCIS-LA is probably the prototype for moving a series like these to the west coast. I wonder if Eric Estrada will play the LA DA, let the CHiPS fall where they may.

I watched NCIS-LA once. Once. (channeling Johnny Dangerously) Maybe I should give it another chance, but I just don't have the time or the energy. Probably would give L&O-LA the same one chance.
