I was at the funeral home in Kilgore yesterday paying my respects to a friend's little brother who lost his battle with cancer. He rode the school bus with me every morning and every afternoon for years and I was laughing about how he and the bus driver gave each other unshirted hell. I was leaving and who was coming in but Mr. Fullerton, the bus driver, who I hadn't seen in eons.
We chatted and I told him my remembrances (and his were the same). I asked about how he was doing and he was very upbeat. His son had won some contest associated with the Kentucky Derby with a prize of $100,000, which had to be bet on a horse. He picked the right one and got a little over $800,000 before taxes. Not a bad day at the races.

I heard an interview with the guy yesterday. I think he was from Houston? He admitted he had little if any horse racing knowledge and he picked the horse on a whim. He said there was zero chance of letting his winnings ride on the Preakness.
