Here is the second of my two pictorial trip reports. You must have noticed all the wooden carvings around the dining room. I thought they would make a nice collection, too. So here are a few choice photos:
These monkeys and parrot were hanging around near the dessert station most of the week. The monkeys look kind of mischievous, as if they wanted to steal some cake or something. I especially like the little guy at the bottom with the leering eyes:
This freaky long-neck bust seemed to wander around throughout the week. Sometimes it was by the omelet/carving station, and other times it was near the soup. But wherever it was, it always kind of creeped me out!
Hedo is well known as the home of big cocks, and this one was no exception! He was usually near the main buffet:
This other Big Hedo Cock was generally hanging out near the salad station:
These fish seemed to get around. They somehow reminded me of the "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" monkeys, even though they don't have any hands!
You might remember this fish-festooned stand. It usually had some sort of tray on it during meals, and hung out between the dessert station and the ice cream machine. It would probably make a good footstool or even a chair in somebody's den:
Finally, dolphins! There were at least three separate carvings of dolphins at various places in the dining room. Somebody at Hedo must have a dolphin fetish of some sort.
There are plenty more carvings around the campus, as you well know, but I focused on the food area ones this time. There were also a lot of new carved wooden ash trays around the resort, some in the dining area, and a lot of them at the beach. Sorry, no photos of them either. Maybe next time!........Jake
