As a photo-theme this year, I decided to focus on the food of Hedo, especially food that we're all familiar with.
However, you can't eat until you've had a drink. I always like to start off a trip with a shot and a beer at the main bar before going to my room. Hazelita opted for a vodka slush:
Of course, most every day has to start off with an omelet and a huge pile of bacon:
No trip to Hedo is complete without several visits to Pastafari, or as it is called now, "Martino's." The seating and decor haven't changed, or the menu as far as I could tell. The interior looks about the same as you are led to your table by Denva:
They start you off with a big plate of yummy bread:
And of course a Caesar salad. I wonder what happened to those crescent moon plates they used to have?
I didn't get any shots of the antipasto station, so we'll launch right into the entrees. First up, a nice Tortellini:
And then a melt-in-your-mouth tenderloin:
The Chicken Penne is also good:
Or would you prefer an angel hair pasta with grilled shrimp?
The ribs of course are wonderful. They start off looking like this:
But pretty soon look more like this:
For dessert, there are a variety of choices. There is the Crème brûlée, now served in a pyrex bowl instead of the traditional ramekin:
Or the creamy, luscious cheese cake:
I usually finish up with a cup of coffee laced with Tia Maria, but didn't get any photos of that.
The other essential Hedo dining experience is Munasan. You start with a nicely set place, and an empty plate which will soon be filled:
I of course always get an order of sake to set the mood:
Appetizer courses include sushi (so that's what happened to those crescent moon plates!):
And a Japanese salad:
And a tempura course:
We didn't get any soup for some reason. Oh well; then your cook arrives to start slicing and dicing the veggies and meats on the grill:
Before long, your empty plate is full. Of course then it is your job to empty it again!
If you drink and party late enough into the night, you are ready for a Midnight Snack. They seemed to have burgers every night that we were there (personally, I liked those big bright red hot dogs, but didn't see any on this trip). The burgers aren't bad at all:
And just as a final compare-and-contrast, I'll share one last photo from the Orlando airport where we had a stopover on the way home and enjoyed the fine dining of the Burger King:
So there is your culinary tour of Hedo for the week. I hope it made your mouth water just a little!.......Jake
