31-17 was a score I did not expect -- thought it would be closer and more of a shoot-out. Anyway, enjoy your first Super Bowl Championship!

The Saints win the the Super Bowl. Holly shit there may be hope for the Lions some day.
I expected a closer game. I thought the onside kick at the start of the second half really screwed up the minds of the Colts.

NO deserved and EARNED that win. The Colts played their game as they played the rest of the season, no fault there. Its a long standing tradition to play to "not lose" the SuperBowl rather than "to win" it. The Colts came in to "not lose", the Saints came in to the game and PLAYED the game "to win". They pulled out all of the stops.
Going into the game my heart was with NO, but my head said "no way" the Colts will wear them down.. glad I was wrong.
Im not a big pro football fan, but that game (after the first quarter) had my interest throughout.
CONGRATS to the Saints, job well done. Come on Lions, you can do it, youve been shown the way.

NOLA, I figured you probably won't be up until noon today, but congratulations. The city of New Orleans (the city not the train) has had a rough ride the last few years and it was good to see them back in the saddle with something to celebrate.

I am totally speechless. I did not have a good feel at all as to what the game was to bring.
I had breakfast in New Orleans yesterday morning with my brother and sister. I told them I was content with what the season had brought and win or lose I would not complain. But I gave them the score of 23-17 Saints. it was more a hope on my part than anything else
I flew back to Orlando yesterday afternoon and watched the game with about 100 Saints fans in a downtown bar. The place was rocking.
I felt great pain when my then favorite Colts lost in Super Bowl III to Beeb's Jets. Last night erased that pain finally. I am euphoric this morning.
There is a parade tomorrow night in New Orleans for the Saints. I am looking forward to the video

I expected a closer game. I thought the onside kick at the start of the second half really screwed up the minds of the Colts. I agree and will add that the decision to do that -- as well as the decision to challenge the 2-point conversion ruling, which was crucial at the time -- were excellent choices by Sean Peyton. BTW, NOLA, if it makes you feel any better, keep in mind that the Colts have had many more shots at the Super Bowl since then than the Jets. I long ago came to terms with the fact that the Jets will never again be in another Super Bowl in my lifetime.

I was also surprised when the Saints RAN the ball four times on a 1st and goal and DIDN'T go for a field goal. Sean Peyton made GUTSY calls that paid in SPADES. Bravo psssst...... Congrats Nola, I was a ROOTING with ya. (not as hard, but ROOTING I was)

I was thrilled and plan on celebrating starting Sunday when I hit NO! I became a Saints fan back when they were underdogs. Remember the days when Saints fan wore bags over their heads? I was a teenager when I became a fan. Too bad you were in NO this week and not next week NOLA as we could have met and had some crawfish bread, red beans and rice, and some of the best cheesecake in the world! I do know several places where you can get a fantastic (Maine) lobster dinner for $14.95!
