Every time I leave my house or make a call lately, I run into service people who don't get it...or I guess it's me. Whatever.
I call Comcast because I want to ditch AT&T line to our house as the main line and make Comcast the main line (its our secondary right now). Since our alarm is on the current AT&T main line I let the Comcast guy know that.
First he tell me only the alarm guy can do that (I corrected him--and went on hold for 5 min. while he verified I was correct--since I had already called the alarm company and it told me only Comcast could do it.)
Then he tells me I've been such a good customer by paying my bills on time he can do it for free (uh, I pay for this service as part of my maintenance) but only if the alarm guy is there. I told him the alarm guy just needs to test the connection remotely to verify the work the Comcast guy does is okay. I'm back on hold again...
Nope! He insists on the alarm guy being there. I said what are the odds that two service people from two companies will be at my house at the same time? He had no answer but said he could give me a 2-hour window when the Comcast guy could be there.
So I said, so the alarm guy may have to wait at my house for 2 hours before the Comcast guy arrives? He again had no answer.
I scheduled the appt. anyway. I'm not calling the alarm guy. I am rolling my eyes.
THEN: This afternoon I go in to get my TB prick looked at to confirm I'm not riddled with TB (I got a tutoring job...and also needed to be fingerprinted, so now I'm logged forever with the FBI...but was told my ridges were so minimal they might not be accepted.) Now keep in mind, the people I tutor don't have to be tested or fingerprinted to protect me when I go into their homes and I'm not insured on the job. And I pay for these two tests ($40 total) and get no reimbursement for travel...guess I'm really dumb, eh?
But back to the TB test. The tech looks at my arm and confirms my health. She hands me one slip confirming the test results. I ask for a copy since my employer was waiting outside to take the slip away with the rest of the employment paperwork. She said she couldn't do that.
I asked if I could get a copy in the future. She said yes and the copy is free. I confirmed that I couldn't have that free copy now. She said no go. I asked if I came back tomorrow, could I have my free copy. She said, "Don't start with me."
I don't get it. Thankfully, my employer knew a person at the front desk and got me a copy immediately when I came out of the patient area.
Just needed to vent my spleen...
