For the first time in 35 years Denice and I are with out a pet in our house.
August 2008 our dog died, in late August of this year we had to put down our 17 year old cat and today we had to put down our 18 year old cat.
We got our first dog 5 days after we came home from our honeymoon and have always had a pet in the house since.
Denice is down tonight. See brought Shelia home 18 years ago. There was not doubt about it but she was her cat. she always sat with Denice and until recently usually greeted her at the door when she came home.

Sorry to hear about your losses, Joe. Pets love you unconditionally. You and Denice must be feeling the effects. Dwell on the good times that they gave you, and that you gave them........Jake

Joe, it's tough losing a family member, which the pets tend to become. Sorry for your loss.
Consider getting another dog or cat. They don't take the place of the old one, but they give you a new path to walk. (and some shit to clean up)

Sorry to hear of your loss, Joe and Denice. I gotta agree with Tex. A new pet helps to fill the hole in your heart.

Better to give the job to an American than to outsource it to an illegal Mexican.

Just make sure the health care package includes an annual prostate exam, that should be a Workers Comp item in this case.

There should also be a bonus if minimum output is exceeded.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. We have decided that we are going to go without a pet for a while. We spend lots of time with the grandkids and have been gone a lot lately so we don't want to leave a new pet at home alone.

Sorry about this news Joe. We too have suffered this loss in the past. We also 'thought' we would do without for a while. It didn't last long. We could not live without a couple of extra pussies in the house.
