The character Ziva on NCIS is always struggling with American idioms. I thought this would be a good place to collect them. I'll start, but I need lots of help here!
"We came to sit on the baby." - babysitting
"You are a control geek." - control freak
"Does a bear sit in the woods?"
"You look like you've seen a goat!"
"American idioms drive me up the hall!"

We have watched every episode of the show and be damn if I can remember any of them off hand. There must be at least two of them on every show.
Their play on words with her character is great writing on their part.

When she said Tony was "Homopubic" (homophobic)

Sometimes it's hard to see the jungle through the ferns.

I missed her when she was gone and was glad they brought her back.
