I've always been a pretty vivid dreamer, enjoying lucid dreams from time to time that are pretty amazing. The problem is while one is "supposed" to be paralyzed during dreams, I tend to physically act them out.
I've put my feet in Rhonda's lower back and nearly pushed her out of the bed a couple of times. I've also punched a "phantom" enemy on occasion, only to be awakened by Rhonda fending off my upper cut!
The other night I had a dream that the witch (my ex, who drives a broom) was in our house. It was not good!!
Rhonda asked the next morning, "what were you dreaming? You said clearly while dreaming 'what the hell are you doing here? Get the fuck out of here!'"
I'm glad to know I still hate the witch!! ;D ;D

I've read about lucid dreams, and always wished that I could experience them. They sounded really cool! But after reading your post, I'm not so sure anymore that they are totally a GOOD thing! Hope Rhonda survives.......Jake

I often dream I'm flying. Over the years I've gotten incredibly good at flying in my dreams--super-duper trick stuff like diving head first toward the ground and controlling my flight so that I stop 1 inch from crashing my face into the floor.
These dreams are SO real that I'm having trouble believing that I can't fly in real life. I keep thinking that if I can just reproduce the physicality/mentality connection that I create in my dreams where I fly easily, I'll be able to fly in my nondreaming state. I want it to be true with a huge intensity.
Sure I sound like a whack job, but this intense feeling has helped me understand how some people believe in god and other things I don't understand/believe.
I love reading stories about levitation too. I want it to be possible for me. I want it badly.
Just last night I was flying and I thought to myself..."damn, I'm doing it...wait, am I dreaming or is this real?"...and then I woke up, sunk into the mattress....frustrating.
Same thing happens when I pee in my dreams...but most of the time I'm able to wake myself up before I wet my bed. Ooops! TMI!
I often talk in my sleep and my mother reports that as a child I walked in my sleep.
Bob, I sympathize completely...but like Jake, I just hope Rhonda survives. Many stories exist of spouses' getting hurt by active sleeping mates.

Chris..Was the Road runner a favorite cartoon of yours ? All I see in your dream is willie coyotte Falling off that cliff..and landing 1 inch of the ground.. Dreams can be sureal..May I suggest living in a ranch style house.
Feel Lucky...I watched the same men die almost every night for 20 years... ( Viet-Nam ) Often I see myself in a lagre explosion traped in a fireball..I have no clue what that means...

I often dream I'm flying. Over the years I've gotten incredibly good at flying in my dreams--. During one of my first lucid dreams, I remember thinking "Hey, you're supposed to be able to fly!" - so I took off over these small mountains and cruised around. It was fall and the leaves were brilliant in color, more brilliant than I have ever seen. I saw something on the ground and went to land, only I had never landed after flying before. I hit the ground a little too fast and tripped, falling over and thinking that I needed some practice! My best lucid dream was my first. I "awoke" standing in this ball field, but no one was around. I could see all these old-timey cars driving by and was very curious what year it was. I walked over to this small structure near the home plate area (it was a local neighborhood ball field) and with some difficulty (reading is almost universally reported as very difficult by lucid dreamers while dreaming) saw a notice posted on a wall with the date of 1927. That immediately explained the old cars! I gradually realized that the field I was in was at the end of the street near an intersection, just up the road from where my Dad grew up. In 1927, he would have been 4 years old. I got the wild idea to walk up the road to his house and see him, but I was worried what his folks (my grandparents) would say when I introduced myself as his "son." That clearly was not going to work! Nevertheless, I walked up the road to the driveway headed to his house when I saw a young man I identified as my grandfather sitting on the porch of the house with this small fellow, obviously my dad. I was getting VERY nervous at this point, not really knowing how to proceed. In my mind and dream, I *was* back in time and was about to meet my 4 year old dad. The tension became so severe that I panicked, and then woke up with my heart pounding. Very surreal!! Lucid dreaming is very cool, because at least for me, the detail that I see within the dream is as equally detailed as when awake. All of my senses are heightened even beyond when awake and other than knowing that I am dreaming, everything I see, hear, smell or otherwise is as detailed and as real as when awake. It's really like directing your own movie, where you can do anything you want. Pretty cool . . . .

Wow!! I've never experienced anything like the dreams described. I do dream, but remember little if anything of them and certainly have no control over what I do in my dreams. My only really vivid dreams have been premonitions of events that have actually come true within a few days, and once when my grandfather visited me in a dream about five years after he died and gave me advice to help me in life. I once had a dream about a man being approached by someone outside a building then being shot by that person. I awoke in the morning to hear on the radio that John Lennon had been murdered outside the Dakota Building.

Chris, I have been dreaming about dancing and flying forever. It usually starts out with me dancing and then at some point I start to fly/dance. It's always a wonderful dream that takes place in different places with different people involved. I also dream about famous people all the time mostly movie stars and singers. They are always good friends. We shop, eat and party. I even baby sat Cher's daughter back in the 70's. I still dream about Yul Brynner occasionally. What a hunk. However, Tom Selleck is my most common buddy. Unfortunately, they are never lovers just best friends. Rats!

Chico sleeps up under my arm. Our other dog is a shitzu named George. He spends a few minutes up next to Chico, then retires to the corner of the bed near my wife's feet. My wife had a dream one time and kicked the poor dog off the bed. We have a big high Havana type four poster bed with mosquito nets. It is very high off the floor. The poor dog hit the marble floor hard. He slept up by Chico for a good week after that.

I have had especially vivid dreams ever since my thyroid operation a few years back. I blame it on the medication I have to take now. It doesnt happen all the time, but when it does its amazing. My dreams are more of the hi-def variety. A lot of detail, bright colors, long conversations and best of all, I retain their memory when I wake up.
The very first one I had was about being on a masted frigate and getting stuck in a mangrove swamp. We swam down river back to the ocean, ended up on the beach and I remember picking up a handful of the beach sand and watching the individual grains run through my fingers.
Also had a dream of being on an old steam locomotive going uphill in a race with another similar locomotive, watching all the drive wheel mechanisms of the opponent in operation.
Last night, I dreamt that I went to our bank, but the main building was closed and they were working out of a trailer in the back parking lot. The new female tellers were being uncomfortably familiar when I went in. The manager informed my that is was not a problem, they were working on a new business model, the bank was going to offer brothel services. Banking services would be legitimate and free, the brothel operations would fund the bank. If you wanted to use the brothel, you needed to ask to "Exchange currencies" and the foreign currency would be used for the brothel transaction, specifically, South Korean currency, and he showed me the drawer with the SK notes (one with a denomination of 200 was the size of a sheet of legal paper).
Left the bank and walked into the mall, where they we also refurbishing, adding some bends in the hallway to break up the straight lines. I was quite interested in the blocks they were using at the bend points in the new walls, because they had 30 degree elbow, and I had never seen construction block made like that. So I started counting how many blocks were used on each bend, to figure out how many were needed for the refurbishment.
You get the idea. I never used to have these kind of dreams but I now find them fascinating because they are never bad dreams, and being able to recall them for long times afterwords only makes the enjoyment better.

Last night I dreamed a female Chinese carpet rep came to my downstairs warehouse (usually they present in the showroom) and as always, the rep started with the heavy sales pitch, taking out sample books and explaining there great virtues. Suddenly -- she sits on the floor and without much discussion between us, I proceed to perform oral sex on her. The sex was good for her (I'll leave out the details) but I didn't get any in return nor did I seem to care. She cried as it ended, worrying someone would find out. It was a whole production but I think it ended alright. The clock radio started to fade-on (thank you Bose) and here I am. I haven't had Chinese food in awhile but I did spend an hour late yesterday with a high pressure rep. Calling Dr. Freud! ;D ;D ;D
