Can you guys withstand yet another proud New York Sate thread from me? I hope so ... here's a few pictures I took during an afternoon trip to visit my parents who are staying in this area for the summer. Here's the link to where we spent the afternoon. Check out the amazing natural scenery as the page scrolls through pictures. www.mohonk.com/index.cfm

This is the back of the resort. It was built approximately 130 years ago and it retains most of the original wood work and architecture inside and out. It's gorgeous and it feels old. A bit of the movie "The Shining" came to mind while walking the vast hallways and I when I entered a ballroom I thought it would be fun (and kinky and creepy) perhaps to dress in period correct formal wear and have a big Hedo cocktail party complete with period correct music.

A simple but interesting and useful devise. The mountain ranges are outlined in this Plexiglas and notched so a hollow tube can be placed in the space aimed at each specific mountain peak. The elevations are labeled and I was surprised to see they were as high as 4040 feet.

I tried to get the camera lens to catch the mountain ranges through the tube.

Great pictures Gaz. I love this style of architecture, looks like a castle from the Black Forest in Germany.

I like black forest vagina and black forest cake, both with whipped cream of course. (Excuse me, I had too much beer tonight as it was the first dry summer night, thanks in advance )
