I'm going to try an experiment. Since I have a week in New York City, and I'm taking my new smartphone with me, I'm going to try to upload a few photos each day. You can track our progress at the following address: picasaweb.google.com/jcesarone999/NYCJune2009?feat=directlinkThat is, if this works!.....Jake

Didn't your mother ever tell you not to play with your food?
We leave for NYC on July 16th. I don't have the fancy phone that you do but I have a lap top that I have turned wireless and I will add a thread from our trip. (That is if I get everything to work right)
Joe.

Looks like NY can keep their Superdog. Give me a Chicago Demon Dog. It's been awhile since I had one, but I have found none better.

edie, it is a hot dog stand located under the Fullerton Street "L" stop, by the DePaul University campus. DePaul is called the Blue Demons. Hence, Demon Dogs. If you like hotdogs, these are the best.
psssst..... Same goes for a Chicago pizza too.

DT, I hate to break it to ya buddy, but Demon Dogs is no more. They disappeared about two years ago when the CTA (who held the lease on the building) did not renew their lease, and expanded the Fullerton el station.
Those were good dogs, though. And the non-stop Chicago music was great, too!.......Jake

People are always raving about Chicago Pizza. Give me NY-style anytime. I can't stand any of the pizzas I get here in Chicago. I actually kinda like the Red Baron 4-cheese frozen pizza though.

Folks might be interested to know that Demon Dogs was owned by Peter Schivarelli, manager of the band Chicago, and the place was festooned with their gold records and autographed guitars, and their music was playing there constantly. Truly a Rock Classic Chicago dog joint! Nowadays, my favorite place for a hot dog is America's Dog, not far from the former DD location, down on Lincoln Avenue. They of course specialize in the canonical Chicago dog, but also make hot dogs in the style of a dozen or so cities across the nation. Plus the classic Chicago Eye-talian beef sandwich.....Jake psssst...... see what YOUR city puts on their hot dogs: www.americasdog.com/
