Yes, Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy the time off....even you "conservative" basterds. (Still seems an oxymoron in a Hedo-based forum)

Looks like I'm going to have this place all to myself tomorrow while you're all celebrating Thanksgiving. I might even manage to get some work done for a ch-ch-change. It's going to be strange, that's for sure. But anyway, once again I wish my Amercan friends a Happy Thanksgiving.

Thanks, Simon. Do you have a similar celebration in the UK?

No, we don't have anything like it. Christmas Day is our only 'turkey day'. But Sam and I did spend Thanksgiving with our friends in Texas last year so we have been lucky enough to experience it for ourselves.

Yes, Thanksgiving is traditionally attributed to the Pilgrims (refugees from religious persecution in England) having a feast to celebrate their first good year of bountiful harvest and friendship with the abos (or as we call them, Injuns)......Jake

Simon and Oz~
As you can see, some of us die-hards still make an appearance and a post even on American Holidays.
Yes, today is a day of giving thanks. I'm thankful for good health, decent kids, great friends, and family.
Here's wishing everyone a great day.
Eat, drink and be merry.
Hedo Hugs and kisses~ Cher

Obviously, your guilt is forcing you to try to make up for your weak "Happy Thanksgiving" from your original post in this thread. Personally, I find this unacceptable. Your apparent attempt at a do-over is quite transparent.

Beeb....it's quite obvious you haven't got a clue when it comes to me and what I think.
Guilty for pre-T-Day wishes? No friggin way.
Today is/was an awesome day. I woke up in a great mood, my attempts at a gourmet dinner were outstanding, and the house was filled with happy folks.
Transparency? See me next week at Hedo in my chain mail dress.

Congress formally established the holiday and it has a LOT more to do with post Civil War (War 'Tween da States, War of States Rights, War of Secession, Second War of Independence, whatever) reconcilliations than Pilgrims. I recommend it as a must watch if you see it scheduled again. G

Beeb...I've got a better button for you to push. Before we have to suffer through yet another of your emotional outbursts, I urge you in the strongest possible terms to seek professional help. Your fragile state right now may only be exacerbated by the stress of the holiday season, so you might want to consult with someone who is better equipped to advise you on such matters. Here is the e - mail address of someone who I'm given to understand is quite good at dealing with people in the throes of turmoil in which you currently find yourself: denise321@comcast.net Don't wait any longer. Your friends and family will thank you for it.

Beeb, that is the most vile, disgusting, and despicable post you have EVER put on this board! You have stooped to a new level - just when you think you've become immune to the BSF, (Beeb Shock Factor), he manages to reach a new low.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to stop LMAO!

Cher Not really an urge - but I did find myself roosting on a high limb. Pretty scary considering I'm scared of heights. Feeling much better now. Tape-and-bedded the living room today. Next week - ceiling tile and carpet. Maybe with any luck I can be hitting my head on the wall! East Texas - rain - 70 degrees - NOT Xmas weather! D
