What happened to it Jake? It just freezes up for no reason. It'll work fine for a half hour or so, then BAMMM, the Blue Screen of Death. Then I'll have to let it sit overnight to get another half hour out of it. Fortunately, that was sufficient for me to copy all essential files to an external hard drive, and I can work on the laptop with no loss of data. I'm guessing I have a thermal issue, probably with the power supply or the motherboard. I'm trying to decide if they are worth replacing just to see. The machine is five years old, but with a major upgrade in memory two years ago it's plenty powerful. I don't want to buy a new Vista machine just yet. Maybe I'll limp by with the laptop until Vista is ready for prime time, then get a new Big Iron.

Jake, sounds like you have a relation with "big iron", like I had with "heavylift one" before it crapped out on me last summer. A favorite, like an old chair, but it sure got the work done... my condolences.
