Chicago is a really cool town, but we had a hellish trip there once. We took the train from Texas and the train ride was a clusterfuck from A to Z. We stayed at a beautiful hotel (The Drake) but the children were being devils and the trip was interesting but trying.

October 12 and 13 was the weekend of the FILP trip to the rooftop. However, it got canceled. We haven't yet decided what we'll do that weekend instead. If I'm around, count me in!
The Drake is a grand old hotel, if a bit on the musty side, and it is occasionally the site of Thursday Night post-movie marathon martini drinking. I know the piano player.......Jake

I've been racking my brain trying to remember the name of the hotel that our choir group stayed in(1984). It was in the Loop and a very nice old hotel.....Bismark maybe?? Does that sound familiar, Jake?We were there in March...over spring break. I remember getting off the bus at Museum of Science...the wind off Michigan hit our faces and it was hard to breath. BTW...we landed in Chicago before going on to Pittsburgh a couple weeks ago...I thought of Jake and Chris when we were approaching. DD

Does that sound familiar, Jake? There used to be a Bismarck Hotel on Randolph street in the loop, but it's been called the Hotel Allegro since the 90s. Maybe that's what you are thinking of? The Drake is north of The Loop, on the Mag Mile......Jake

Our team had won the Southeast finals, yours truly anchoring the team. We had some really young judges, in fact, folks just out of law school, judging us and they apparently didn't speak Su'thern. I had just kicked ass in Atlanta in the Southern finals. I apparently couldn't speak English in Chicago!! It was TOO funny!! We didn't get pasted the first round.

Is this idea still alive? If Bob doesn't have his dick nailed to the road anymore, I'm available that weekend. What should we do?......Jake

I have retrieved my dick, so I will be there in Chicago that weekend. I'm busy during the day, but have Friday and Saturday evening open for a drink or two. I won't get to my hotel on Friday till about 6PM, however.

I have retrieved my dick ... That's nice to hear. I always hate it when the airline loses my luggage.

I have retrieved my dick ... That's nice to hear. I always hate it when the airline loses my luggage. That's why it pays to travel light and take your dick as hand luggage, just so long as it will fit in the overhead locker or under the seat in front so it can't injure anyone during take-off or landing... Well, technically you can only take it as a carry-on if it's small enough to fit in one of those clear plastic bags. Obviously, this isn't an option for everyone.

That's true, and with heightened security these days a hand inspection can really suck.

Especially if they take you over to the side and make you turn it on and use it right there in front of them to prove it's genuine.

Yes, but it's important we render the terrorists impotent. Yes, the last thing we need is a limp response to the problem, we need to show them that we've got balls. Simon

Yes, that's a point we must ram down their throat.

And keep ramming it down their throat until they swallow the idea.

True, but it would give us time to recharge our batteries for a repeat performance. That's fine, provided we're not sloppy, seconds after our previous attempt.
