Geri and I go to an annual Halloween party every year locally at a friends house. I thought it would be nice to post a few pictures here. This is 2003, I was a perverted gym coach and Geri was a school girl.

This year we were thinking of going as "Hot Latin Girls". Wearing the same costume as my wife will be a test for me.

Carmen Miranda-esque.
Some friends from here in town (but we last saw them at Hedo) are having a Halloween Party this year with uniforms as the theme. We may have a Canadian houseguest in town and forgo the party, but if we go, we were thinking of a priest and a Brownie.

We had a good time at this party last night and I'm feeling the effects of it now. Getting naked is no problem (Gunnison, Hedo) but it took 1/2 a bottle wine to get dressed like this.

I was reading the article that is below and wondered if it meant anything that I had done the "Elvira" thing several different times. Of course I am in to that "wig" thing anyway!!!! LOL Also the statistics are kind of interesting... Is there a psychological element to a costume choice? People certainly don't choose their get-ups randomly, says Sam Gosling, a University of Texas psychology professor who conducts research on personality manifestations. "There are two possible motivations at work," he says. "One is just the pure fun of manipulating your appearance. The other is this opportunity live out an idealized life," if only for a night. Costumes resonate with different people for different, and not always conscious, reasons, Gosling says. For example, someone who has a fascination with power might be drawn to superhero costumes, he says. Costumes can also say things about the wearer's attitudes and values, Gosling says. Traditionalists might opt for cowboy costumes or something similar. Someone who consistently chooses joke or pun costumes perhaps wants to be thought of as a cynical or amusing person. That said, it's hard to draw any reliable conclusions from one year's costume choice. "In all personality research we look for themes," he says. In other words, if your buddy dresses in drag this Halloween, you needn't worry that he's struggling with gender identity issues. "But if the same guy comes dressed as a woman every year," Gosling says, "that's probably more significant." Halloween by the Numbers $4.96 billion The amount consumers are expected to spend on Halloween this year, up from $3.29 billion last year. Halloween is the sixth most lucrative holiday for retailers, after the winter holidays ($457.4 billion estimated), Valentine's Day ($13.7 billion), Easter ($12.63 billion), Mother's Day ($13.8 billion) and Father's Day ($9.01 billion).* 63.8 percent The percentage of consumers who are expected to celebrate Halloween this year.* $1.81 billion The amount consumers will spend on costumes. They are also expected to dole out a total of $1.57 billion for candy, $1.31 billion for decorations and $260 million for greeting cards.* 26 pounds Per capita consumption of candy by Americans in 2005.** 36.1 million The estimated number of potential "trick-or-treaters" — 5- to 13-year-olds — in the U.S last year, down 284,000 from 2004.** 1.1 billion pounds Total production of major pumpkin-producing states in 2005. Illinois led the country by producing 497 million pounds of the frequently smashed gourd.** men.msn.com/article.aspx?cp-documentid=1060139

We were; Austin Powers and a Mod Girl. Elvis Presley and a French Maid. A Cowboy and Cowgirl. A Gym Coach and a School Girl. Frankenstein and a Genie. Girls Gone Wild, (according to the package) both of us. Latin Hotties. (according to the package) According to that psychology professor, I better pick something manly. So much for being a mermaid next year.

Good Lord!!! No! The link describes evolution as Jake was referring to.
From link:
Humans have a highly developed brain capable of abstract reasoning, language and introspection. This, combined with an erect body carriage that frees their upper limbs for manipulating objects, has allowed humans to make greater use of tools than any other species.
