You sure shit did. Don't feel bad you are not alone. I remember that show. Joe. Hey we used to watch that show whenever it was on. Unfortunately my dad liked it alot so during dinner we had to watch the lions kill deer, or a hyena go after some water buffalo. I think the worse was on Wednesdays which was spaghetti night in my house. Why did they ALWAYS have to have spider episodes on spaghetti night??? Dammit people.....It took me a minute(without going back through the posts) to remember what the hell your talking about!!! ;D Now , I call that sometimers...or CRS.... DD

Sorry guys...I rank haggis up there with chitterlings(pronounced chittlins) and grits....AINT GONNA EAT IT!!! The last two make me a bad southuner....also don't like biscuits and gravy, or black eyed peas. About twenty years ago, on vacation in New Jersey and New York, tried to find corn dogs in the grocery store....no one knew what they were. Kept taking us to the hot dogs Back on topic... the walnut trees in our back yard are dropping the BIGGEST nuts I've ever seen! Bill said that indicates a hard winter to come. Is he right? DD

Sorry guys...I rank haggis up there with chitterlings(pronounced chittlins) and grits....AINT GONNA EAT IT!!! DD While I am proud of my Scottish heritage, I am with you on this. The very concept of 'Scottish cuisine' is oxymoronic to me, despite the thousands of Scootish (correct pronounciation) restaurants you see across America. Bill Cosby said it best "I aint gonna eat anything that something else has used for digestion". Besides, it would probably get my gout going.

I knew somehow I'd be drawn into posting in this thread-gone-amuck! OK Tex - I grew up in Texas and have to ask - what the HELL is "slang jang"? Apart from that - breakfast at your place sounds pretty damn good! Dan

Slang jang is a mixture of chopped onions, tomatoes, and bell pepper with a little sugar and some spices. I eat breakfast on Saturdays with a buddy who is a French chef (used to work at a haute cuisine cafe on the Champs Elysee). He manages the club across the lake. The club serves some fine French dishes and the aforementioned oilfield fare. I am sure the my French buddy is thinking "sacre bleu" but he and I are old friends and he keeps it to himself.

Won't do it And as for chittlins...anything you have to boil the 'shit' out of...well..... Needless to say, around here we sell the (pardon the pun) shit out of them....and fresh greens..... I started eating bangers and mash about 5 years ago. I really like that! And yes...my nuts are 'fulling' all over the place ;D

Simon This almost sounds like a form of brushetta or fresh salsa only cooked. I sometimes cook the brushetta and serve it over chicken. Well I guess that depends on the spices come to think of it. Okay we all are becoming Martha!! I'm scaring myself!

Tex,
Is this a side dish or is it mixed in with the eggs?
This sounds like a hot rodded western omelet, it's making me hungry, even if it's keeping BB asleep.

Simon I would use some finely chopped fresh basil and sweet marjorem. For salsa, most folks might use some cilantro. Slang jang has a sweet taste, as opposed to salsa. It is generally used as a condiment on greens or black eyed peas. I have never seen it out of the deep south. (If they know how to play 42, they might make this stuff)
