Oh, and Dr. Goon, congratz on the sweep by the Tigers. That walk-off by Ordonez was certainly an exciting way to cap it off. NO SHIT, that was a real exclaimation point on the series. The way things started off I was afraid that it was going to be Oaklands answer to the previous game's 2 hitter by Rodgers.

With painful memories of seeing him pitch in NY (for both the Yanks & Mets), I can't believe this is the same Kenny The Gambler who beat the Yanks & Oakland. This may be the best he has ever pitched in his career.

Drama...
This just in: Under direction of Major League Baseball, the St. Louis Cardinals purposely throw game 6 to the Mets in order to insure television revenue for a game 7.
(How ELSE would you explain the first inning? Bases loaded, no outs, and they don't score?? HAS to be fixed!!)

My take ... Cubs fans in the stands rooting for the Cards
Bif, I AM losing patience here. I have been salivating at a Detroit-StLouis rematch. Now its down to one game, that puts it pretty much up in the air.
If it matters, I WILL be rooting for the Cards tonight, AND if your guys need incentive, by the time the Series starts, Detroit will have been sitting around for almost a week losing all the momentum that they had picked up during the playoffs so far. A GREAT chance for the Cards to go up 3 games to 1 (AGAIN), and we can take it from there.
So whaddya say, have them kick some Mets ass!

With Suppan pitching against Oliver Perez (3-13? WTF!), I'd say the Cards have a major advantage.

With two of their starting pitchers injured, they've got nothing left. Tonight's game will be a joke -- they'll probably wind up using at least half (or more) of their pitching staff just to get thru the game.

I'd still put my money on the Mets though. psssst.......Consider this: The last six teams that started the World Series with five or more days of rest all went on to win.

Yes, I was biting my nails, BUT, I learned something from watching the Mets fans.... I noticed they all seemed to be PRAYING!.. Hmmm, Cards fans typically try to out do the opponents, so, I took my glass of wine, and I too assumed that Praying position..... As my son was LAUGHING at me. WAAA LAAA, We WON! So, YES, I do believe in the Power of Prayer, ESPECIALLY Praying with Wine in hand!

Congrats to the mets . I smell a cross town playoff and that's where my money is going. My heart will be with st louis but for sure it would be a losing bet. Yanks and Mets? No and No. A's vs Mets . A's in 6 Joe. No and No again. Detroit vs Mets. Detroit in 7 Getting warmer! Tigers in 7, winning at home, over the Cards (repeat of the GLORIOUS '68 season finally) Close but not quite! Cards over Tigers in 5, winning the series at home. (And breaking the Curse of Keith Hernandez!) Now THAT sounds about right!

Cards had the clutch hits, Mets didn't. Ironically for the Mets, it was not their pitching but their *hitting* (edited to add: or lack thereof) that let them down in the end. Congrats to the Cards, they earned it. I hope we have an exciting 7-game World Series ahead of us.

OK Bif. As a dormant Tiger's fan, just now coming out of the coma of the past two decades, if you keep spouting such nonsense as that "Cards in 5 over the Tigers" you may actually roust me awake enough to challenge you... Tigers in 7, winning at home, over the Cards (repeat of the GLORIOUS '68 season finally)BWAHAHAHAHAAAA Weve got you right where you want us. Tonight the Tigers put Mickey Lolich on they mound, and he ends up hitting the game winning home run..... [rubbing hands together] its all going according to the master plan[/rubbing hands together] BWAHAHAHAHAAAA

Congrats to the Cards & their fans. They won it because they played well as a team and Detroit lost it because their pitching staff *literally* threw games away.

No question that the better team won. In addition to pitchers that couldnt field, the Tigers couldnt hit their way out of a Trick or Treat bag. CONGRATS Bif, and all other Car'nal fans ;D
