One of my most unfavorites....'it is what it is'. While I agree that this is an annoying way to say it, I do think it is a valuable piece of information at times. People sometimes seem to focus more on what they wish were true than on what is true, and sometimes need to be reminded that reality trumps fantasy.

These are all good. "It is what is is" seems like it started as a rejection of someone else's attempt to pigeon hole or label something inaccurately. Then it morphed into a catch all cop out for people who don't want to explain a certain behavior or arrangement about which they have questioned.
