I just rented it tonight, this is the FIRST Star Trek movie I have not went to the theater to see... I am REALLY disappointed I didn't. I have to say I was IMPRESSED!!! The ch-ch-change in the timeline to me opens up some doors to revisit some of these old friends and foes and even to bring in new stuff as well. I think they have done a fantastic job on the casting of the Enterprise crew, they are all pretty convincing. I am looking forward to more out of this latest incarnation of Star Trek. As far as the sets, I LOVE the bridge, but have mixed feelings on the industrial looking engineering area. It will be interesting to see how long they will continue to move this series forward.

That's the problem: they are NOT moving it forward! This was warmed-over reruns from Wrath of Kahn and little else!
