I shoot everything in RAW with my Nikon... at 12.3 MP an 8GB card gets me 539 shots... I am at about 4TB of storage in my PC now and adding more all the time... between all the Photoshop files with my web design and photography, I fill up drives FAST. I have just recently started using Carbonite for a backup solution because having duplicate drives with all my shit on them was getting to be a HUGE hassle, Carbonite just backs up all my shit and I don't have to worry about it.
Now imaging if you will the storage requirements for Gigapixel images...holy crap!!!
But then again...my first "modern" computer had a 210 MB hard drive and I never thought I would come even remotely close to filling it up.

My first PC had no hard drive at all; just two floppy drives. I eventually added a 20 MB drive, but I had to keep it on a long ribbon cable outside the computer, because the fan wasn't powerful enough to keep it cool.

Much like the old blind men and the elephants thing. Sounds like a porno movie I saw once. -- BB (and what they did with the elephants' thing just wasn't natural)
