This is the longest coolest Spring in my memory. Generally by this time, the summer cycle has kicked in and it hasn't. It is chilly outside right now and that is strange for late May.

I can't believe it's late May and most evenings I'm having to put the heating on for an hour or so at night to take the chill out of the house. Simon

Actually, it's no more whacked out than usual. Let me remind all, Chicago has two seasons, construction and no construction.

The high Monday afternoon was 73 and the low was like 47, Tuesday I was in Huntsville and it didn't reach 70 while I was there. The humidity is slowly creeping back up though and by this weekend it'll be in the mid 80's with a heavy dew in the mornings.

There are a few patches of snow left, and the leaves on the trees are now getting serious about. Chance of frost again tomorrow morning, so we will have to cover all of the newly planted flowers this evening. We may not see 92 again for another 2-3 months, and it could be that yesterday was the warmest we will see this year. Time will tell.

It's been so hot down here this past week that Monday I heard a tree thank a dog. On Tuesday it was even worse and the tree was begging the dog to come back and piss on it again.
Seriously, mid 90's all week with high humidity and none of our normal ocean breezes for daytime and thunder boomers for late evening.

It has been hot. Damn hot. I finished my yard work today right at noon and headed to the pool. The pool read a balmy 91 degrees . Maybe I should have not been so quick to dismiss adding a chiller to my heat pump when I redid the whole system a couple of years ago. Anyway here are two sure signs it is now summer time in FL. The first crop of bananas is coming in And it is time for the hard top to go back on the T-bird for a couple of months
