Well I said I would get one out so here we go.
A somewhat smaller crowd this year of only 178 but we still had fun. Not much representation from the board this year. Besides Denice and I, there was Collen, George, Muffy, and Biff.
On the bright side. We booked ROH and end up in H block. The new AC units worked great, even to good at times. Plenty of beach towels, not a very long wait at the Delroys for drinks, they had Jack Daniels this year and plenty of it, the food was good I thought better than last year, the hot tub was clean every morning as was the pool , and of course the company was great. The place was also somewhat more quiet at night so we got to sleep with very few or no disract
Denice and I took a trip off campus to the Appleton Rum Distillery and it was a nice tour. Kind of a similar operation to a winery so I found it interesting. At the end of the tour you get to sample many of their Rums. Our tour also included a nice lunch of salad, some type of great fish, Jerk Chicken, rice and beans, and steamed vegetables.
Laura(Muffy) got Denice to follow her into the jewelry store at resort and well to make a long story short it cost me a few bucks. Never and I mean never drink tequila with beer chasers late at night and then let your wife con you into a jewelry store. They both said "just come and take a look at this". It was laying out on the counter and all I had to do was hand the guy my credit card. I still can hear the train whistle blowing in my ear. But it was our 34th anniversary on November 30th so I was still SOL on the deal.
I thought the resort looked the best we have ever seen it in the 5 trips we have made with the WWWW group. I used the gym for the first time this year. I started running 1 1/2 miles 6 days per week on the tread mill at home the first of October( trying to drop a few pounds) and managed to get down there 4 times during our stay. I never realized by just walking by that they had such a nice gym once I went inside.
The EC's where no place to be found most of the times during the day which is A OKAY with me. I liked it that way.
On the sour side, no hand towels in the room. We had 2 the first day and one the last day. No Lobster on the first Friday there Dec 5th but they did have it on the 12th. Also they start the music to early at dinner time and it's way way to fucking loud. You have to shout to hold a conversation with the other at your table. IMHO they should wait to at least 8:30 before the do anything. But these few minor things won't keep me from going back again.
Well I hope next year we get more representation from the board there. Jake you and Miss Hazel where missed, as was Doc Bob and the lovely Rhonda, Mike and Tammy (no jello shots this year), Steve and Gail, Deb and Trace, Hank and Debby, Gary and Gerry. Gary and Georgette, and I know there was few others missing. People we need to see you their live in person next year.
On the sad side Laura took a little spill Saturday night and landed on her hip and dislocated it. Her and Jeff had to stay two extra nights, but we hear they are home and that she is doing better.
And yes I did get to sit down and I had a very lovely conversation with the very pretty MS. Collen.
Well Denice and I are counting the days until next years trip already. As soon as Denny or some one has some rates we will most likely be booking again for the 09 trip.
We it's back to the salt mines to get the money to pay for that trip.
Joe
And yeas for those of you who go the third week of Novermber every year the Loove VoooDoo group have booked the whole resort, so why don't you all hold up a eee
