Still looking for my LA Freeway series. Angels over the Red Sox in 12 tonight. If they can get back to LA they will win.

And if the Angels *don't* win, it's time to spank The Rally Monkey.

No, but you would think at least one person would say yes just to be courteous. It's given me quite a complex.

Well heck now that you've let us know it is a "complex spanking of the monkey" I could probably sell tickets if you also provide hors d'oeuvres. Zilla (looking to make a buck in today's economy)

I've got Hot Pockets. Would that be OK? As long as you can provide all the paying customers with Hot Pockets, we should be fine. Zilla (who also likes a nice Cocktail Weenie)

3 down and 8 to go Tampa Bay Rays 6 Chicago White Sox 2 Bring on the next set of Sox! Congrats on the move up. Sad to say, the two with the best season records LAA & Cubs could not make the first round. I saw this morning that this is only the 3rd time since we moved to the playoff format that the best team in each league failed to advance. I am not a proponent of expanding the season any further as it is already too damned cold to play baseball in some places. But I don't like the 5 game series. It gives too much advantage to the team hosting the first two games. Not that 7 games would have helped the Cubbies but I think it would have given the Angels a better chance.

I actually think the LCS should go *back* to 5 games; the WS should be the only 7 game series, but there's too much $$$ to be made off the extra games for them to go in that direction.

I go with the best of seven. Me thinks, if you played well enough to win your division, or win the wild card spot, it's not right to have the chance to get blown out in a three-of-five series. Four of seven (more than not) is much fairer.

OTOH, if you played well enough to win your division, then you shouldn't have to be forced to play 7 games against a lesser Wild Card team. I say keep it at 5. Actually, I'd prefer no Wild Card -- let the team with the best regular season record earn a bye, and the two division leaders duke it out in best of 5 to see who plays the team with the best record in the LCS.

The series is headed back to Boston for 3 games. That's a tough stand for any visitor. If the game would had been at Fenway tonight Boston would have won. If the Rays can get it back to Tampa they stand a chance. The just need to win one in Boston.
Personally I am pulling for a LA-Boston match up. I hate both teams so why not pull for them in the playoffs.

We sat in the living room and watched it to the bitter end . 3 beers, two martini's, a great steak dinner and desert. Neither team should hang their heads on that loss.

I'm sure Fox is, too -- if they pull in viewers from both coasts, that means higher ratings for them.

Well we will find out Monday afternoon if the Rays have what it takes to beat the Red Sox at home. If they don't it's over by Wednesday. This is the time that playoff experience kicks in and the Sox's have plenty of that.

I think this was an impressive statement game for a young team. The BoSox are dangerous when they are down. Tim Wakefield tomorrow should make for an interesting game.
