Time is just flying by - I can't believe it is Thanksgiving this week! So much to do, so little time, since we're going out of town, we loose a couple of days. It's hard to believe just one week from this Thursday we'll be back "Home"!
Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving holiday - come back to the boards safe from where ever you go, and a special thanks to everyone at the TNMC for being the great people that you are!
Mmmmmwwwaahhhh!
(How, that Beeb?)

HUH? It don't link to nuttin'! Wuzzupwidat? Sorry, Beebmon. I should have known better than to use orange text. It just seemed so appropriate for the holiday. Maybe I should have made my message PINK[/size] so it wouldn't confuse all the smarties who know that (most) orange text on this board is usually a link. {shrug} Maybe I'll ch-ch-change it. NOT!

Remember that Thanksgiving is about being thankful and sharing the bounty you have... be sure to sneeze on the bird! Better not do that at my house, especially when the carving knife is close at hand.

I control the carving knife in my household, and I have a standing rule... I am not respondsible for any missing fingers that result from people trying to nab pieces off the bird when I am carving. I regard such fingers as parasitic opportunists which may suffer consequences for such bold intrusions into the carving zone.

Two days 'til the holiday and I get the FREAKIN' FLU!!!!!!!!!!! D That really sucks - I understand if you get to the doctor quick (it works best at the first onset of symptoms),they can give you "Tamiflu" which shortens the duration of it. Good luck, and hope you feel better soon!

Renee, you should know that stuff doesnt work. This man is sick and needs serious help.
Look, Dan, there is still time for the tried and true traditional approach to work here...
Delroy, quick a Hot Toddy
1 oz. Brandy 1 Tablespoon Honey 1/4 Lemon 1 cup Boiling Water 1 Tea Bag
Coat the bottom of a mug with the honey. Add brandy and juice of lemon quarter. On the side, boil water and add tea bag to make hot tea. Pour steaming tea into honey/brandy/lemon combination.
1 0z Brandy MY ASS, make it 1/4 cup minimum.
Repeat as needed.
Dan, you may not get better any quicker, but at least you wont care, and by Thursday morning it should be pretty much done with anyway... at the minimum, you just had a head start on celebrating.

Thx for the suggestions guys.........can't believe the first big holiday of the season and I feel like I just got hit by a semi. Oh well - maybe this will be it for the season.
Tried the Tamiflu (I think) a couple years ago. As you say - if you start it within 48 hours it does lessen the symptoms and recovery time.
The Hot Toddy sounds good - I may try that this afternoon.

I just love it! A guy posting recipes.... Product of a comprehensive domestification effort applied for nearly three decades. Shit happens! At least the recipe was for stong drink and not ladyfingers (I refer to my turkey carving post), but I may be willing to share my pizza recipe someday.

All we have 'round these parts are Canadian Geese, and they're just cold weather refugees. Do they count? Last one of them I violated was with a 10 gauge Long Tom(heheheh!!) at the lake. Roasted up real nice too!
