Last night we saw Young Frankenstein. After a fun conversation in the H2 hot-tub with an old Gunnison friend who raved about the quality and humor of this production, I promised myself to see it when I got home. When I see him next I'll be able to confirm how right he was. The play starts off strong with humor and song. Great acting, singing and dancing along with Mel Brooks's humor even more apparent than the movie, is infused through out the production. All the actors do a super job at filling in that incredible list of fine actor/comedians that the movie had. Sexual humor is the main driver and it works very well in songs and in the script, mostly as innuendo and plainly also as "tits" are celebrated in chorus. A few song titles are: * Roll in the Hay * He Vas My Boyfriend * Deep Love. (in every sense) The scenery and special effects were top notch, it's hard to imagine what it takes to build and make this run so smoothly. If you're coming to NYC try and see this musical, it's a nice compliment to the movie. A few words on getting tickets: The show was sold out but only hours before the show started I went to www.stubhub.com/young-frankenstein-tickets/They had a good selection of seats, you pay online and go to a pick-up office just 2 blocks away from the show. (Hilton Theater 42nd st.) Modified to say: The tickets were nearly HALF the price using this method. Still not inexpensive but better. $129.50 (Young Fronkenstein website via ticketmaster)vs. $75.25 Stubhub
