A great report. And I am now officially inspired. Hedo was not in our plans for 08 but I am looking at April dates in the morning. What else can you say about the power of the pen!

Excellent report Beebster. We will make it to Hedo for NYE one fine day. You and I apparently both like the Sangster Rum Cream. Good stuff.

How about a Conde Nast serial: "Poo in Paradise"?

Thanks Beeb for taking the time and trouble to write such a long, detailed and very enjoyable trip report. While I'm glad you and some other folks seemed to enjoy it, the motivation was more selfish than magnanimous -- composing this epic was done more for a way to me to re-live my trip than anything else. Having done it, I'm fucking exhausted -- I think I may have caused TNMC's squabulator to overheat with this one.

You and I apparently both like the Sangster Rum Cream. Good stuff. Believe it or not, after all of my trips there, I didn't actually get around to trying the stuff until my previous year's trip in Dec. 2006. I like it on ice and in the mudslides, but can only take so much of it since it does seem to leave a bit of a film on your teeth. Since returning, I've also used it to make my own mudslides at home (substituting it for a Bailey's knock-off, Brady's Irish Cream Liqueur, which is one of the ingredients in my usual recipe).

How about a Conde Nast serial: "Poo in Paradise"? The Frommer's Guides will have some stiff competition.

I've had similar delays on the return flight on AJ many times. Nearly EVERY time, in fact. But I never had them call the resort in advance so I could spend the hours there! I always found out the hard way - at the airport.
Usually, my return flights aren't quite so late (vbplyr's luck hasn't been as good as mine -- a result, I believe, of flying into Newark). I did have a return flight once that was a number of hours late, but like you, didn't find out until I was at the airport. AJ wound up giving us a voucher for a meal at Margaritaville as "compensation".

For you, sir, any time. In fact, this may even inspire me to start writing Trip Reports in the future, even if I don't post them for others to read. Writing them certainly does give you the reason to stop and think about everything that happened ...

-- BB (who wishes he also could've written about some of the things that he DIDN'T include in this exhaustive Trip Report) Maybe Jake can start a new section...."All the things I didn't/couldn't say in my trip report". I might even be tempted to write one of those. I think I did trip reports on my first 11 or 12 trips to Hedo and now...I just don't bother any more. I keep saying I'm going to do one from this past Dec, but now that Jan is half over, it's not likely going to happen. Oh well..... thanks again for posting yours BB...it was really good. diane
