As much as I loved Bif and Muffy's logo, I have my doubts that it would be stark enough to be embroidered. Somebody might have to look into that I'm sure Bif could produce a version that is more 'print friendly.' If not, I run a graphic design company and could have one of my designers take a look at it if Bif sends me the original file. Simon

I've also talked with Ed Hubbard (some may know him as the tall half of Ed & Eileen. He is working to get his travel business going and is therefore cutting his commissions by a lot. I have not used him yet for quotes, but will give him a shot next trip. www.thetravelhub.net/Well, that didn't work. I guess I have to figure out how to put a link in here.

I've heard very good things about Dan Hill and that he has often been able to beat Denny on rates.
But I have to give Denny credit. Last December, pricing our trip was very complicated because it included free nights from the "food poisoning" sickness the prior year, and we bought nights at the Silent Auction the prior year. All of this ended up meaning we were actually paying more for the days we were paying for than normal. One of those complicated deals where the free nights only work if you pay full price for the others. I wasn't happy with it and kept pushing Denny. I think he really was hamstrung by what GCT or SuperClubs could do, but ultimately, he came through for me, and probably by cutting his commission to do so.
So I will always give Denny a shot, but I am inclined to shop around after hearing success stories with other agents.
Jim

Be aware too--(and DennyP just told me this)--that you can't use your "free" days with any of the bargain rates....so you have to book your bargain rate days with a TA such as Go Classy, Dan Hill, Ed, or Denny for example, and then book your Free days with another agent (or direct with SuperClubs who may or may not charge you the $25/person/night fee) and then book your air for all the vacation (maybe with one of the above regular agents).
I'll be booking my next trip with two separate entities to be able to use my free days AND get the bargain basement rates. Stupid system (and Denny agrees) but it's SuperClubs rules.

Stupid system indeed! We were unable to use our $327 in "Hedo loyalty points" for our November trip. I suppose that means we'll accrue more of them for that trip...but damn, when will we ever be able to use them??

I just tried Bill's website for a singleshare rate for November and it came up with in the $140s for ROH (the cheapest rate offered) for 7 nights....ack! Maybe it likes it better when you sign up for two people? Bummer! I liked that rate you got Bill! I wanted it! I still don't know though whether I'm going in November or December.

Just checked out our December dates and it was $5/night/person cheaper than Denny. ($126.25/night/person, ROH)
Bill, have you used this place before?

I had called Castaways to see if they could meet the quote (the quote page is EXACTLY like their page). They looked into it and told me it was an Internet based operation (no brick and mortar) and they could not compete with them. I'll let ya know how it works out-I should have my travel documents next week; if not I'll start calling. I also charged it to a credit card so if they don't come thru I can cancel the fraudulent charge. (damn-I am one cheap SOB) Bill

Oh, so true Renee! H3 (Donna Grant) told us we couldn't use our "free" voucher days (for which we payed over $700.00 at the WWW silent auction) during the entire month of February. I called Denny and he finally got it worked out due to several emails that he sent. We ended up buying three days, as it was about sixty or eighty bucks cheaper to book three nights rather than two. And about four hundred more for the three nights rather than purchasing one....figure that out....Sometimes I think I hear Tahiti calling my name!
Modified a week later as I must not have reread my post, nor did I use spell check. <sigh>

I have to say it is so refreshing to be able to read a thread about "Booking with someone other than. . . " without it being deleted or locked. Other TA's are actually mentioned, and rates! OMG! It almost as a naughty feeling to reading it. Thank you , Jake!

Sometimes I think I hear Tahiti calling my name! Thread drift alert........................has anyone traveled to Tahiti or other South Sea islands? (Ozmale??) would love to read some travel reports! We went to Tahiti in 1999 for our 25th wedding anniversary. We stayed on the island of Moorea at the Bali Hai resort.(has changed owners and names.) It is the best non Hedo vacation we have ever taken and have discussed going back there again some dayin the near future. The people are warm, friendly, and make you fell at home. The country side is beautiful, the water warm and the food outstanding. I would highly recommend Tahiti as a vacation spot to anyone. Edited to add: We have done the Mexico trips, Cabo, Cancun, Cozumel, and I will go back to Tahiti before I go back to Mexico, unless we decide to go to Desire. Joe.

We almost made it to Moorea three or four years ago. I was bidding on a spectacular deal on SkyAuction when my brother took a turn for the worse (he had leukemia) and I didn't want to leave the country. The guy that won the auction got nine days and airfare for $716.00. That was cheaper than just booking the airfare alone!! But it was the right decision as I spent six weeks in Texas with him before he lost his battle to cancer. BUT...one of these days we are going to TAHITI!!!
