Bookmarking that post for future reference. Jack Cesarone comes out and declares a universal government run program, a more socialistic plans than Obamacare, funded by taxes worth a "good looking into"!! This is almost monumentally historic. Someone please remind Jake that it's August 1st, not April 1st.

Mitt want the Federal Government to give health care management to the States to develop, just like he did in MA. From his website:

Mitt has made some gaffes overseas - perhaps he should have limited campaigning to the 57 states.

Mitt want the Federal Government to give health care management to the States to develop, just like he did in MA. From his website: True, but he LOVES the Israeli Federal Plan because ITS EFFICIENT. Edited: I really dont consider this a Romney gaffe, he didnt make any mistake in facts. He just praised a system that he would find repugnant in the context of the US.

Mitt has made some gaffes overseas - perhaps he should have limited campaigning to the 57 states I think it would be a while before he shows his face in the UK again. One of the best descriptions I saw of him in the British press the other day was "that stool sample of a man..."

..... Jake you old socialist you, I knew it was in there somewhere. Even if it took a Romney candidacy to do it, I am happy that your eyes have finally been opened to some of the things I have been saying here for so many years........ You must be hitting the Laphroiag early today, Gordon. I know your reading comprehension isn't really this dismal.

... and yet... How is that an "ooops"? He is praising a system that is more efficient than our system. That sounds like a good thing.

Mussolini kept the trains running on time. It's worth knowing how he did that. But that doesn't mean we should adopt his philosophies over all. Get back to me when you sober up.

Youre the one praising Romney for praising the Israeli socialistic health system for being more efficient.

Okay, now you're just being obtuse. Can't you imagine a world with shades of gray in between black and white?
As usual, I'll let the audience decide.

Jake, Trying to recall the proper response to being called "obtuse" from The Shawshank Redemption. I DONT believe that it would involve serving you up to "the sisters" in the laundry room, but I could be wrong. Regardless, I stand by the written record in this thread, you have "outted" yourself. NTTAWWT, but at this point denial only gives the appearance of being more damaging than the original sin, as so often is the case.
Beeb, my theory was that he was either possessed by or was channeling Lou last night, but your theory is plausible too.

Jake you old socialist you, I knew it was in there somewhere. In the spirit of the late Gore Vidal, maybe it would be more appropriate to characterize him as a crypto-socialist. Or would crypto-anarcho-socialist be more accurate?

Beeb? Youre going corporate on us? (Although I understand the passion for the product) As HORRIBLE as things were at NYSE, I am extremely delighted that this company rescued me in such short order. I'm only here about 4 months now, so I'm still in the honeymoon phase. It'll wear off eventually, I'm sure.

Calling a candidate "Willard", or "Hussein" for that matter, is to start name calling instead of focusing on issues, IMHO. The candidates didn't name themselves, they are responsible for their track records. Romney has some real accomplishments in private and public life. How about Obama?

Thanks, Tex. I like to try to focus on REAL ISSUES rather than bullshit and distractions. Zip-lines, tax returns, and middle names are trivia. Unemployment rates and deficits are worthy of discussion.

Unemployment rates and deficits are worthy of discussion. Jake, you do realize that 'Willard' is his first name. So using it is no different than using the name 'Barrack', which I have used in the past here. Insofar as the trivial use of name, I seem to recall your frequent use of the name O'Bama in the past. Seems that things are different when it involves 'your guy'. Sent from my DROIDX using proboards

Well everything is wrapped up nice and tidy. I am sure glad that Romney (observing the conservative political correctness of NOT using his first name) swooped in at the last second and saved another Olympic disaster. Im sure all of GB is thankful.

BTW, speaking of "Romney Gaffes", did anyone notice the thunderous roar when the allusion to the good job of security at the games was mentioned in the closing ceremonies? I did.

I've noticed over the past number of years that if he can't play by *his* rules, then he doesn't want to play at all. Rather poor sportsmanship revealing an even more flawed character.
