Since seeing Titanic 3D on Saturday I have seen trailers for the movie on TV and been reminded exactly why this movie can only be truly enjoyed on the big screen. This movie is immense, and the small screen just does not even begin to do it justice. Now, factor in over a year spent reworking it into 3D, with James Cameron overseeing the conversion of every scene, and you have THE ultimate disaster movie.
There are no gimmicks in Titanic 3D… no oars coming out of the screen at your face to make you jump, no objects floating above the heads of the people in the row in front of you.. it’s just a tragic story well told. And if that is what you expect for the price of your ticket then you already know you won’t be disappointed, but in 3D Titanic is so much more. I don’t need to tell you the plot of this love story within a story, the story of Titanic’s maiden, and final voyage, but what 3D does is it intensifies Titanic. You are there. And in 3D the effect is not just heightened - it's deepened. From the moment the doomed ship hits that iceberg you are confronted with images that will make your jaw drop. Yes really. Titanic 3D is breathtaking, from the haunting shots of staterooms, fireplaces and chandeliers taken by Cameron on his many dives to the wreck, to the sickening moment her stern, having been pulled upright as the bow sinks, crashes back down again into the ocean onto the hundreds of life-jacketed passengers floundering in the water below.
You may well have seen Titanic many times before, but the opportunity to see it again on the big screen is one not to be missed, and in 3D it is an experience you won’t ever regret.

Originally, I had heard that there weren't actually that many 3D effects in the movie because Cameron didn't want to overdo it. From your description, however, it sounds like there were quite a few.

Actually no, it's just very subtle and for the most part you forget that it has been reworked into 3D. The 3D just adds a lot more depth, and more drama to the big scenes such as when the iceberg holes Titanic and the scenes when she is sinking.
A good example might be a scene early in the movie when they have sailed out of Southampton and the captain wants to 'stretch her legs'. There is a cut to the engine room which in the original is more of a filler, but in 3D you are in awe at the scale and power of the engineering down there.
It really isn't like a typical 3D movie... this is no Jaws 3-D.

Was there any nudity or sex scenes? I'd like to see that in 3D. It would be pretty cool to be almost poked in the eye by an on screen nipple or two.

The sight of Kate Winslett's bare breasts in 3D on the big screen was a delight.

I'm surprised that a 3-D attempt hasn't been tried yet by the adult movie industry. It seems like a natural fit and a good gimmick or marketing match to drive sales and viewership.

It's because people would duck (why a no chicken?) during The Money Shot. Too disturbing.

It can be fine tuned not to feeak people out with the emphasis on dimension and not an actor aiming at the audience. Cover your popcorn!

The real Titanic Anniversary Cruise was diverted today. Apparently one of the passengers fell ill, and they had to return to the UK.
Not an ideal trip, but certainly better than the last time they tried it!

The whole idea seems as doomed as Titanic's maiden voyage :

I saw one back in the 70's.. not overly compelling, but then, neither was 1970's porn. Besides, at the time, being in a theater with a bunch of people wearing blue/red cardboard glasses watching porn set a new creepy level for this young adult.

We saw T3D last night at Alamo Drafthouse. It was worth seeing again in 3D. We got a six pack of Bud bottles in a bucket of ice (seemed like a good value for $24.50) and a pizza.
Seeing the movie again reminded us how well done the movie was in the first place and it was a good fit for 3D. 3D has come a long way.
